My Cause My Cleats
Washington Commanders players and coaches reveal their passions beyond the game and wear their hearts on their feet through My Cause My Cleats. The Washington Commanders Foundation is auctioning off select players' and coaches game-worn cleats to support their chosen non-profit organizations.
A majority of K9s For Warriors dogs come from high-kill rescue shelters, though a portion, such as Goldie, are donated as puppies via breeders. When the Commanders learned about Goldie during initial conversations with the organization, there was an almost immediate sense that he would be a great MVP (Most Valuable Pup) candidate.
Since its inception in 2011, the Women of Washington (WOW) has evolved into the largest women's program in the NFL with over 135,000 members. Along with free year-round programming and events like behind-the-scene opportunities with the team and football clinics, WOW also offers a unique avenue for leadership development and fitness classes, embodying their mission to provide a complete platform to empower female fans' mind, body and spirit.
Character Playbook powered by EVERFI is an NFL and United Way-sponsored program that teaches middle school students about cultivating and maintaining healthy relationships in the game, in the classroom, and in our everyday lives.
In an effort to make reading more fun for elementary students, the Washington Commanders created this focusing on a playbook for students to study the Xs and Os of reading! The Read Playbook provides monthly prompts for students to analyze a book(s) of their choice, focusing on different areas of the story (e.g. characters, setting, plot). This supplemental learning tool incentivizes 4th and 5th grade students by providing monthly prizes and the chance to host an event with current players at their school in the spring! The program runs from September – March.
