In his first mock draft of 2016, CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco believes the Redskins will once again grab a Mississippi State product, selecting Chris Jones with the 21st-overall pick.

While the NFL Combine will likely create some changes to each team's big board of prospects, mock drafts are getting their last updates before the annual scouting event starts up this week in Indianapolis.

In his first mock draft of the year, CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco has the Redskins selecting Mississippi State defensive lineman Chris Jones with the 21st-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

"They need help up front with the potential loss of some free agents, and this is a kid scouts are raving about," Prisco writes.

Jones was selected as a second-team All-American by Pro Football Focus after his junior season in 2015, as he accumulated 44 tackles along with four passes defensed and 2.5 sacks.

Against LSU on Sept. 12, Jones recorded a career-high eight tackles.

The 6-foot-6, 308 pounder was a key backup as a sophomore in 2014, as he appeared in all 13 games with 26 tackles (3.5 for loss) along with three sacks.

As a freshman in 2013, Jones, a Houston, Miss., native, appeared in all 13 games with three starts. He was named a freshman All-American by three different publications along with earning All-SEC Honorable Mention honors after leading the team in quarterback hurries (10) along with tying for the team-high in tackles for loss (seven).

According to his NFL.com draft profile, Jones plays "with tremendous natural power."

"Has strength in his hands and upper body to shed blockers without much effort when it's time. Made to stymie downhill rushing attacks. Can battle through wash-down blocks and work his way back into a tackle. High school hooper with sneaky lateral foot quickness. Uses quick feet and shoulder turn to leverage him into gaps for disruption. Flashes some occasional "quick win" hand work as pass rusher. Posted 34 quarterback pressures and 11.5 run stuffs. Has talent and strength to do what he wants on some snaps. Can generate a heavy pocket push when he gets some knee-bend going. Surefire tackler with vision and agility to scrape down line of scrimmage and clean up runners working through line of scrimmage," his profile states.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein believes Jones could be a similar player to Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Jordan Phillips.

As a rookie in 2015, Phillips, a second-round pick, appeared in 15 games with four starts, recording 14 tackles with two sacks.
