80th Anniversary Road Show

Hey Redskins fans! Michele here. Today was a special day for me as we kicked off the 80th Anniversary tour to my hometown, Winchester, VA! The tour is our way of thanking our fans for 80 years of being the best fans in the NFL. Some of the First Ladies of Football, myself, alumni and current players boarded the new, decked-out Redskins tour bus and headed west towards Winchester.  It was so exciting to go back home and represent the Washington Redskins for the first time since I made the team and see the love and support from the fans in my hometown. Our first stop on the tour was at the Rotary Club luncheon where we met local business representatives in the Winchester community. We enjoyed mingling with them and joining them for lunch! Our next stop was very special and touching to all of us on the tour. We visited NW Works, which is a local non-profit organization that provides vocational training and employment opportunities to adults with disabilities in the area. The folks here were so excited to have us all in attendance and their energy and love for the football season was so contagious. We ended the tour with a visit to Handley High School where local residents and students took over the stands in the Handley Bowl for our big thank you. I felt like I was back in high school at a pep rally when I stepped onto the field today. I had friends, family, and former students of mine come out for the event to show their support. This year is all about thanking the fans for their continuous support because they are the ones that drive the NFL. I couldn't think of a better place to kickoff the tour than Winchester; not just because I am from there, but because they are truly representative of Redskins Nation. We look forward to our upcoming tour stops throughout the summer! Thanks again to our fans for being the best fans of all professional sports!!

Hope to see you at a stop soon!
