DeSean Jackson did what he does best Sunday against the Panthers, catching a 56-yard touchdown pass and earning this week's Bridgestone Performace Player of the Week honors.
You knew it was only a matter of time.
[
](http://www.bridgestonetire.com/)After showing his skills as the league's top deep threat for the Redskins last season, wide receiver DeSean Jackson had to wait quite a while this season to get back to that level, as he suffered a painful hamstring injury Week 1 against the Dolphins and has slowly worked his way back into the lineup the past three weeks.
But on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, the speedy Cal product reminded everybody what he brings to the field, as he blew by two members of the Panthers' secondary to catch a 56-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins.
Here's some notes on that play:
- With the touchdown, Jackson tied Joey Galloway (22) for the fifth-most total touchdowns of 50-plus yards since the 1970 merger.
- The receiving touchdown was the 38th of Jackson's career, his sixth with Washington and his first of the season.
- The reception was Jackson's 31st career reception of 50 yards or more, the most by any player in the NFL since he entered the league in 2008.
Jackson finished the game with a team-best 87 yards on five receptions.
