General Schedule Notes

  • Washington will take on the AFC West and the NFC North this season as well as the rest of the NFC East. The Commanders will also be facing off against the second-place finishers of the NFC South, AFC East and the NFC West.
  • The Commanders will play five primetime games this season, three more than last season and the most since 2017. Five primetime games are tied for the most in franchise history in a single season.
  • Head Coach Dan Quinn has an 11-7 record in primetime games.
  • The Commanders will play three primetime games at home which ties a previous record from 2013 and 2016.
  • The Commanders will play eight nationally televised games this season, five more than last season.
  • The Commanders will play 10 non-1:00 p.m. games this season, three more than last season and the most since 2001.
  • Washington will play the Miami Dolphins in Madrid for the NFL's first-ever regular season Spain game.
  • The Commanders will finish the season against a divisional opponent for the 16th straight season dating back to 2010.
  • Washington is playing seven non-divisional opponents who recorded 10-plus wins last season. Including Philadelphia (9) this season, Washington (7) will tie the second most opponents faced with 10-plus wins the previous season.
    • Washington is the only team to play at least seven non-divisional opponents with 10-plus wins the previous season and not have won their division.
  • The Commanders have two divisional games from Week 1-14, it is the least number of divisional games during that time frame since 2021.
  • It is the second time in franchise history that the team will end with at least four straight divisional games (2021).
  • Quarterback Jayden Daniels could become the first quarterback to face at least four other quarterbacks drafted in the first round in the same draft class since Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did so in 2019.

Week 1 vs. New York Giants

  • Washington will host the New York Giants to open the 2025 regular season.
  • It is the fourth time that the Commanders have played the Giants in Week 1 and the first since 2011.
  • The Commanders have a 3-6 all-time record against the Giants in Week 1.
  • The Commanders are 2-1 all-time in Week 1 home games against the Giants.
  • Washington has a 20-16 record at home in Week 1.
  • The Commanders have a 41-50-2 record at home against the Giants.
  • Last season, Washington defeated New York 21-18 on a game-winning field goal in Week 2.
  • Washington is looking to win three straight games against New York for the first time since 1998-2000.

Week 2 at Green Bay (Thursday)

  • The Commanders will travel to Green Bay in a Week 2 matchup.
  • Washington has never played the Packers on Thursday Night Football.
  • Washington is 4-3 all-time against NFC North opponents on Thursday's.
  • Washington has a 10-17 record on Thursday Night Football.
  • This will be the third time that the Commanders will play the Packers in Week 2. They have a 0-2 record against Green Bay in Week 2.
  • The Commanders have a 16-20-1 overall record against the Packers.
  • Washington is looking to get a win for the first time at Lambeau Field for the first time since 1988.
  • The Commanders have a 5-13-1 record on the road against the Packers.
  • This is the earliest that Washington has played on a Thursday Night Football game since 2021 when the team faced off against the New York Giants.

Week 3 vs. Las Vegas

  • Washington will host Las Vegas in a Week 3 matchup.
  • The Commanders will play the Raiders at home for the first time since 2017.
  • Washington has a 3-4 record at home and 7-7 all-time record against Las Vegas.

Week 4 at Atlanta

  • The Commanders will travel to Atlanta in Week 4.
  • Washington will face the Falcons for the fifth consecutive season (2021-25).
  • Last season, Washington defeated Atlanta 30-24 in Week 17 to clinch their first playoff berth since 2020.
  • The Commanders are looking to extend a four-game winning streak against the Falcons.
  • Washington has an 18-10-1 overall record and a 7-6-1 record on the road against Atlanta.

Week 5 at Los Angeles Chargers

  • Washington will head to Los Angeles to play the Chargers in Week 5.
  • The Commanders have never played the Chargers in a Week 5 matchup.
  • Washington has a 7-5 overall record against the Chargers.
  • On the road, the Commanders has a 2-3 record and are looking to break a three-game losing streak as the away team.

Week 6 vs. Chicago (Monday)

  • The Commanders will host the Chicago Bears in Week 6 for a Monday Night Football matchup.
  • Washington has a 14-12-1 record against Chicago at home and a 24-22-1 overall record.
  • Per Stathead, Washington is 31-45 all-time in Monday Night Football games.
  • Head Coach Dan Quinn has a 6-1 record in Monday Night Football games.
  • This will be the second time that Washington and Chicago have ever faced off on Monday night.
  • This is the third time in the last four seasons that Washington and Chicago will face off in primetime. Each of those games has occurred in Week 6 or earlier.
  • It will be the fourth straight season (2022-25) that Washington and Chicago will play each other.
  • Last season, Washington defeated Chicago in Week 8 18-15 last season on a 52- yard Hail-Mary touchdown pass from QB Jayden Daniels to WR Noah Brown.

Week 7 at Dallas

  • Washington will travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in Week 7.
  • On the road, Washington is 18-43-2 against Dallas and 47-79-2 all-time.
  • The Commanders are looking to win in Dallas in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2014-15 seasons.

Week 8 at Kansas City (Monday)

  • The Commanders will head to Kansas City in Week 8 for a Monday Night Football matchup.
  • This will be the second time that Washington and Kansas City will play on Monday Night Football, the previous matchup in Kansas City was also on Monday Night Football.
  • This is the first time since 2017 that Washington has played two Monday Night Football games within the first eight weeks of the season.
  • Washington has a 1-10 record all-time against Kansas City.
  • The Commanders have never won in Kansas City and have a 0-5 record.

Week 9 vs. Seattle

  • Washington will face off against Seattle at home in Week 9 for the first time since their Week 12 matchup during the 2021 season.
  • The Commanders have a 13-7 overall record and 6-5 record at home against the Seahawks.
  • Washington has a 20-19-1 overall record on Sunday Night Football.
  • Head Coach Dan Quinn has a 3-1 record in Sunday Night Football games.
  • Washington and Seattle have never played each other on Sunday Night Football.

Week 10 vs. Detroit

  • Washington will host Detroit in Week 10.
  • The Commanders have a 28-16 overall record and a 19-3 home record against the Lions.
  • Last season, Washington defeated Detroit 45-31 in the NFC Divisional round.

Week 11 at Miami (Madrid)

  • Washington will travel to Madrid, Spain to face off against the Miami Dolphins in Week 11.
  • The game will be played at Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid C.F. Real Madrid is 2-0 in friendly matches played at Northwest Stadium.
  • This is the first time that Washington will play abroad since 2017 when they played the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • It will be the third time in franchise history that Washington has played an international game (one in London and one in Toronto).
  • The Commanders have a 5-9 overall record against the Dolphins.

Week 12 – Bye Week

  • The Commanders will have a Bye Week in Week 12.
  • Since the Bye Week was reinstated in 1990, Washington has never had a Week 12 bye.

Week 13 vs. Denver

  • Washington will host Denver at home for the first time since 2017 in a Week 13 matchup.
  • The Commanders have a 4-2 record at home against the Broncos and a 7-8 all-time record.
  • Washington and Denver have never faced off in a Sunday Night Football matchup.

Week 14 at Minnesota

  • Washington will travel to Minnesota in Week 14.
  • The Commanders have a 10-13 overall record against the Vikings and are 5-5 in Minnesota.
  • Washington is looking to snap a three-game losing streak in Minnesota and is looking to get their first win on the road against the Vikings since 2007.

Week 15 at New York Giants

  • Washington will travel to play the Giants in Week 15.
  • Washington's all-time record against New York is 72-107-5. The Commanders are 31-57-3 against the Giants on the road. 
  • This is the latest that Washington has traveled to New York since the 2021 season when they faced off against the Giants in Week 18.

Week 16 vs. Philadelphia (Saturday)

  • The Commanders will host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16 for the second consecutive season.
  • Washington has a 3-2 all-time record against Philadelphia on Saturday's. The most recent Saturday matchup was in 2015 when Washington defeated Philadelphia 38-24.
  • At home, Washington has a 46-41-3 record against Philadelphia.
  • Last season, the Commanders defeated the Eagles 36-33 on a last-second touchdown pass from QB Jayden Daniels to WR Jamison Crowder in Week 15.
  • The last time Washington played on a Saturday was in 2022 when they faced off against the San Francisco 49ers.
  • Washington has a 17-19 all-time record on Saturday's.

Week 17 vs. Dallas (Thursday)

  • Washington will host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17 for a Christmas Day matchup.
  • The Commanders have a 47-79-2 all-time record against the Dallas Cowboys.
  • Washington has never played on Christmas Day.

Week 18 at Philadelphia

  • The Commanders will travel to Philadelphia in Week 18 for an NFC Championship rematch.
  • Washington's all-time record against Philadelphia is 89-85-5 and 43-44-2 on the road.
  • This is the first time that the Commanders are ending the season at Philadelphia since 2020. It ends the three-year streak of Washington facing off against Dallas in the final week of the regular season.
