- The Washington Commanders fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-20 in the season opener on Sunday.
- Washington recorded 22 first downs and 299 net yards.

Offense
- Quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 17-of 24 passes for 184 yards. Daniels also rushed for 88 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
- Daniels became the second rookie in NFL history to rush for two touchdowns in his first career game. Kenny Pickett was the first to do so in his debut in Week 4 of the 2022 season.
- Daniels rushed for 56 yards in the first half, the most by a rookie quarterback in franchise history. It is the second-most first half rushing yards by a Washington quarterback since Robert Griffin III rushed for 58 yards in the first half against Chicago in 2013.
- Daniels rushed for his first career touchdown in the third quarter and became the second quarterback in franchise history record 70-plus rushing yards and at least one rushing touchdown in a single-game.
- Running Back Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 49 yards and one touchdown. His second-quarter touchdown was the eighth rushing touchdown of his career.
- Robinson Jr. also added one three receptions for 49 receiving yards.
- Running Back Austin Ekeler led the team with four receptions for 52 yards. He also rushed for 10 yards.
- Ekeler's 22-yard reception was his longest reception since Week 10 of last season.
- Tight End Zach Ertz recorded three receptions for 28 yards.
- Wide Receiver Luke McCaffrey tallied his first career reception and finished the game with three receptions for 18 yards.
Defense
- Defensive End Clelin Ferrell registered his first sack as a Commander and his 14.5 career sack.
- Linebacker Bobby Wagner led the team with 10 tackles. He is now tied for fifth all-time in tackles with 1,714.
- Wagner added three tackles for loss.
