- The Washington Commanders defeated the New York Giants 21-18 in their home opener on Sunday.
- Washington won the time of possession battle 37:32 to 22:28.
- Washington did not record a punt for the first time since Week 7 of the 2021 season when the team played the Green Bay Packers.
- Washington won a game without scoring a touchdown for the seventh time in franchise history. The last time the team accomplish the feat was in 2009 when Washington defeated the St. Louis Rams 9-7.

Offense
- QB Jayden Daniels completed 23-of-29 passes for 226 yards. Daniels also rushed for 44 yards.
- TE Zach Ertz recorded four receptions for 62 yards.
- Ertz registered a 21-yard reception. It was the longest reception for Ertz since Week 6 of the 2022 season.
- Ertz became the 12th tight end in league history to record at least 7,500 receiving yards.
- RB Brian Robinson Jr. finished with 133 rushing yards which is a new single-game career-high.
- Robinson Jr.'s 133 rushing yards are the most by a Washington running back since RB Antonio Gibson had 146 against the New York Giants in Week 18 of the 2021 season.
- Robinson Jr. recorded a 40-yard run, the longest run of his career.
- RB Austin Ekeler totaled three receptions for 47 yards and rushed for 38 yards.
- WR Noah Brown tallied three receptions for 56 yards.
Defense
- SJeremy Chinn recorded a fumble recovery and one tackle.
- CB Benjamin St-Juste forced a fumble, had six tackles and three passes defensed.
- DE Clelin Ferrell registered one sack, one quarterback hit and two tackles.
- LB Frankie Luvu led the team with 11 tackles.
- LB Bobby Wagner finished with nine tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defensed.
Special Teams
- K Austin Seibert went 7-for-7 in the field goals and set a new single-game franchise record with six made field goals.
- Seibert became the first kicker in a single game by a Washington kicker since K Dustin Hopkins in Week 3 of the 2016 season to make five field goals.
