A list of stats and notes from the Washington Commanders' 20-19 win against New Orleans, presented by BDO by the Numbers, as compiled by Washington Commanders Public Relations.

General

  • The Washington Commanders defeated the New Orleans Saints 20-19 on Sunday afternoon.
  • Washington moves to 9-5. It is their best start through 14 games since 1992.
  • Washington moves to 6-3 against NFC opponents, their best start against NFC opponents since 2018.
  • Washington is 2-1 against the NFC South this season, the team's best start against the NFC South since 2021.
  • Washington recorded their fourth road win of the season. It marks the first time the team has won four road games in a single season since 2022.
  • Washington recorded their 18th win over New Orleans, moving the all-time series to 18-11. It was also the team's first win in New Orleans since 2012.
  • Washington is 10-5 all-time at New Orleans.
  • Washington is 2-0 in the month of December for the first time since 2020.
  • With nine wins this season, Head Coach Dan Quinn joins George Allen as the only head coaches in franchise history to win nine-plus games in their first season as HC with the organization.
  • Washington scored 20 points moving their season total to 396 total points. They currently rank tied for No. 6 in franchise history in total points in a single season with the 2016 teams (396). They have moved past the 1987 team (379), the 1990 team (381) and the 2015 team (388).
  • Washington has scored points in the first quarter in 13-straight games, the longest active streak in the NFL.
  • Washington allowed zero points in the first half against New Orleans. It is the third time this season they accomplished the feat and the most in a single season since 2015.
  • Washington allowed 38 net yards in the first half. It is the fourth time since 2000 Washington has allowed less than 40 total yards in the first half of a game and the first since Week 11 of the 2022 season against the Houston Texans.
  • Washington rushed for 137 yards as a team. They move to 9-2 when rushing for at least 100 yards.
  • Washington has now rushed for 2,177 yards as a team. They have move past the 2013 team (2,164) for No. 9 all-time in franchise history in rushing yards by the team in a single season.
  • Washington has allowed less than 20 points in seven games this season, the most in a season since 2018.
  • Washington converted their only fourth down attempt, moving to 14-for-16 on the season on fourth down attempts.
  • Washington won the time of possession 40:50 to 19:10. Washington moves to 8-0 this season when winning the time of possession. 40:50 is the highest time of possession mark for Washington since Week 13, 2022 vs. NYG (41:11)
  • Washington went 9-for-14 on third down attempts. Washington is 8-0 when converting at least 40 percent of their third down attempts.
  • Washington has had two games with over 40 minutes in time of possession this season, which is tied for the most in a single season since 2000. Washington had two games with over 40 minutes in time of possession in 2022, Weeks 10 and 13.
  • Washington allowed 69 net rushing yards. It's their second consecutive game allowing less than 70 rush yards, and first occurrence since Weeks 12 and 13 of the 2020 season.

Offense

  • QB Jayden Daniels completed 25-of-31 passes for 226 yards, two touchdowns and a 118.5 passer rating. Daniels also rushed for 66 yards.
  • Daniels has rushed for 650-plus yards this season. He joins Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III as the only rookie quarterbacks in NFL history to record 650-plus rushing yards in their rookie campaign.
  • Daniels has thrown for 3,045 passing yards this season. He becomes the third rookie in NFL history to have thrown for over 3,000 passing yards and rushed for over 600 yards. He joins Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III as the only other players to do so in NFL history.
  • Daniels converted a third down attempt with a 24-yard rush in the third quarter. He now has five rushes of 20+ yards on the season, the most by a Washington quarterback in a single season since Robert Griffin III in 2012 (6).
  • RB Brian Robinson Jr. had 21 carries for 65 yards. It's the seventh time of his career with 20+ rushing attempts and the most since Week 4 vs. Arizona (21).
  • WR Terry McLaurin recorded seven receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
  • McLaurin recorded his 11th touchdown reception in the second quarter and moved into a tie with Jordan Reed (11 in 2015) and Bobby Mitchell (11 in 1962) for No. 5 all-time in receiving touchdowns in a single season in franchise history.
  • McLaurin scored his tenth receiving touchdown of the season in the first quarter. He moved into a tie with Gary Clark (10 in 1991) and Bobby Mitchell (10 in 1964) for No. 7 all-time in receiving touchdowns in a single season in franchise history.
  • McLaurin has surpassed 900 receiving yards for the sixth straight season.
  • McLaurin has recorded at least 900 receiving yards and 50 receptions in six seasons and is one of four wide receivers joining Mike Evans, AJ Green and Randy Moss as the only wide receivers in NFL history to accomplish the feat.
  • McLaurin is the first Washington wide receiver to have 10 or more touchdown receptions since Gary Clark did so in 1991.
  • McLaurin recorded two touchdowns, his fourth multi-touchdown game of the season and the sixth of his career. It is the first time in his career he has done so in consecutive games.
  • McLaurin recorded his 36th career touchdown reception and moved into a tie with Ricky Sanders (36) for No. 8 all-time in franchise history for career touchdown receptions.
  • McLaurin's four multi-touchdown games are the second-most in the NFL this season trailing only Cincinnati's Ja'Marr Chase (5).
  • McLaurin has recorded multiple touchdowns in a single half twice this season. He is the first Washington player to record multiple touchdowns in a single half of a game twice in a single season since TE Jordan Reed did so in 2015.
  • McLaurin becomes the first Washington player to record multiple touchdown receptions against New Orleans in a single game since Jordan Reed did so in 2015.
  • WR Jamison Crowder returned from injured reserve and caught three passes for 27 yards, including a 12 yard third down conversion in the second quarter.

Defense

  • DT Daron Payne recorded one sack and two quarterback hits.
  • Payne now has four sacks on the season and 34th on his career.
  • Payne moves into top 10 in Washington history and is tied with Andre Carter for No. 10 in franchise history (since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.)
  • DE Dorance Armstrong had one sack and two tackles for loss.
  • S Jeremy Chinn totaled seven tackles, including one sack, the fifth of his career.
  • CB Mike Sainristil hauled in his second career interception in the second quarter. He added two pass defenses, the 10th and 11th of his career, respectively.

Special Teams

  • K Greg Joseph went 2-for-3 on field goals attempts and 2-for-2 on extra points attempts.
