On his fresh start with the Washington Redskins:

"This is a team that's definitely in the hunt for a championship and a team that I felt comfortable with the whole time. I was so eager to get out of Atlanta, I really didn't take my time and if I did I would've probably been here from the jump. I was so eager to get out that I ended up going to a situation that probably wasn't the best for me, but at the end of the day I am where I want to be."

On how many teams wanted him and why he decided to play for the Redskins:

"Every team wanted me as far as coming in and helping them out, but for me it came down to what team that I felt I had a future with. I don't want to necessarily go hit the free agent market again when the season is over. Washington was one of the ones that were here from the start. Last off-season I thought that we were going to be able to work something out. It was almost like continuing that saga from the last off-season. I just feel in my gut that this is the place for me."

On his decision to come to Washington and fight for a starting job on the team:

"I just felt like this team was close to a championship. I felt like I did fit in, whether it was right away or in the future, I felt like I did have a spot on this team. I don't mind working for what I get because I would have had to do that from day one no matter where I went. I'm just here to help this team whether that's coming off the bench or starting."

On whether he feels like he still has something to prove:

"Yes and no. That situation in Oakland kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth, so I definitely feel like I need to go out and have a great game or season, but at the same time I feel like I've done so much already. All I have to do is go out there and do what I have to do."

On how special he feels playing for the Washington Redskins:

"I've always dreamed about playing in the area that I grew up in and to get an opportunity has been a blessing."

On starting his career with the Redskins during Dallas week:

"It's real special because it's obviously a fierce rivalry. To be apart of it and jump in full steam, it's definitely going to be an exciting game."
