The Redskins have placed defensive back Jason Doering on the Injured Reserve, ending the fourth-year pro's season. Doering suffered a high ankle sprain in the first half of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles at FedExField.
Doering would have been sidelined 4-6 weeks as a result of the injury, so team officials decided to place him on Injured Reserve. He becomes the 10th Redskin placed on IR. He had been signed in midseason by Washington shortly after Matt Bowen suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 5.
Doering saw most of his action this season on special teams. He played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2001-03 before signing with the Redskins as an unrestricted free agent.
