This week's Redskins Drive of the Game, presented by Ford, was Chris Thompson getting the Redskins their first touchdown of the season on a 77-yard drive.

Looking for their first touchdown of the game, the Redskins decided to speed things up in the fourth quarter of Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Washington's first three scoring drives against Pittsburgh all ended with field goals. Going to a no-huddle offense did the trick as the Redskins marched 77 yards in just seven plays to score a vital touchdown. The drive took just 2:18 off the clock.

The drive began after Redskins wide receiver Jamison Crowder returned a Pittsburgh punt from his own six-yard line to the Washington 23-yard line late in the third quarter. The final play of the third quarter was a nine-yard pass from Kirk Cousins to running back Matt Jones.

Trailing 24-9 to start the fourth quarter, the Redskins kicked it into high gear. Chris Thompson ran for seven yards before Cousins hit tight end Jordan Reed for five yards and a first down, sending the Redskins into no-huddle mode. Cousins threw one of his most impressive passes of the night on first down – a 19-yarder to Pierre Garcon along the sideline. Then it was Crowder for 16 yards over the middle followed by another pass to the center of the field to Vernon Davis.

The 32-year old Davis showed he still had some elusiveness, evading multiple tacklers before being brought down one yard short of the end zone. The Redskins hustled to the line and handed it to Thompson who finished the drive with a rushing touchdown – the first of his NFL career.

All of a sudden, the Redskins were within one score at 24-16 with 13:05 remaining in the game. Pittsburgh was able to pull away, but Washington may have found a weapon with its impressive efficiency in the no huddle.
