Redskins Nation:
It has been the most fabulous seven years of my life as a First Lady of Football, but all things must come to an end. I'm sad to say that I won't be returning as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader for the upcoming season.
It's been quite a ride for me! Seven years of auditions, 70 home games on the sidelines, three years as Captain, 275 drop splits (no really, I counted), hundreds of charitable appearances, dozens of trips to Walter Reed, 11 military appreciation tours to places including combat zones in Afghanistan and Iraq, trips to Hong Kong and India, and seven beautiful Caribbean destinations for the annual calendar shoot. To top it all off - a trip to Hawaii as the Washington Redskins 2012 Pro Bowl Cheerleader!
What I will cherish most from this experience are the lifelong friends, teammates, and sisters I've made over the years who share my love of dance. I feel very fortunate; there isn't much more I could ask for!
None of this would have been possible without your love and support of our team. You've all allowed me great opportunities to live my passion: dance. Thank you all so much for being loyal, energetic, passionate fans!
I know Redskins Fans show great commitment and great character through the good times and the difficult ones. I'm very proud to be part of a Redskins Nation. I've enjoying getting to know you all very much and representing you all and our beloved team as a First Lady of Football. I'll continue to wear my veteran Redskins Cheerleader ring, and Pro Bowl ring, with great pride.
I look forward to seeing you all at FedExField - in the stands! And at my first ever pregame tailgate! Hail!
With gratitude, love & cheers,
Abby
