The Redskins held practice at a local high school on Friday night, giving the team the opportunity to simulate a game at night in advance of Monday's Hall of Fame Game.
"We had pre-game warm-ups, we had a halftime review and we even tried to substitute in a game," head coach Joe Gibbs said. "We tried to make it like game condition. We worked a script with offense against defense."
"We were trying to simulate organizationally what we're going to do and then also get the players used to that before we go up there Monday night."
Linebacker Mike Barrow sat out practice with what has been diagnosed as tendonitis in his left knee. He strained the knee during a Friday morning practice and had a MRI. Team doctors say he is day-to-day.
Running back Clinton Portis also sat out practice to rest an abdominal strain. He is expected to practice on Saturday and his status for Monday's game will be evaluated afterwards.
The Redskins host Fan Day on Saturday at Redskins Park, complete with performances by the cheerleaders and marching band and a 45-minute autograph session.
On Sunday afternoon, the Redskins travel to Canton, Ohio. The team will have a private tour of the Hall of Fame that evening before returning to the hotel for meetings.
It will be the first time Gibbs has been back to the Hall of Fame since he was inducted in 1996.
"I've been to a couple Hall of Fame events, but not many," he said. "I haven't really been back because we had racing events on the weekend."
The game is slated for Monday evening at 8 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast on ABC.
