Albert Haynesworth had his best game this season in Sunday's 17-12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

So says head coach Mike Shanahan.

"It was by far his best game since I've been here," Shanahan told reporters on Monday. "He played about 30 plays and had a couple of holding penalties called against him, which were difference-makers in the game. He gave a lot of effort."

Playing both defensive end and nose tackle, Haynesworth produced a strong push up the middle against the Eagles' offensive line and was disruptive on several plays.

He finished with four tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

On one play, Haynesworth bull-rushed center Mike McGlynn and quickly forced quarterback Michael Vick out of the pocket. Vick eventually scrambled to the left for a minimal gain.

Asked if Haynesworth had played well enough to earn more playing time, Shanahan replied with a smile: "The more he plays like that, the more he will play."

Haynesworth has not started this season -- he is listed as the backup nose tackle to Ma'ake Kemoeatu -- but he has served in a supporting role. He has been credited with six tackles this season.

He missed the Week 2 game vs. Houston due to an ankle injury.
