On how his injured knee feels following Saturday's preseason game:

"I feel sore and stiff, mostly from the hip, but overall I got some good news. The good news was the whole (ligament) was in place, in contact. I just got a bruised lateral knee."

On if he felt lucky after seeing the film:

"I did. I'm thankful to God I didn't have anything more serious than it is, because nine times out of ten when you see that it's usually something torn or something that's not good. I'm just thankful it didn't happen, and I did get kind of lucky."

On if he is hesitant about going back in the preseason:

"I'm still not hesitant. You continue to keep progressing. It's a day to day thing. We'll just see where we're at closer to the weekend. At the same time, you just want to keep working to improve with our offense. We'll just take it slowly, take it day by day."

On if he feels he still needs preseason work:

"Over the last few games, we've done a lot of great things. We've moved the ball. The one thing you want to continue to try to work on is getting to the red zone area and trying to finish on the drives. But we made a big jump from game one to game two. Last weekend against Tennessee game, we came out moving the ball. We just didn't finish our drives. We're moving the ball very well right now. We've just got to get everyone back healthy."

On if he feels like he needs the preseason:

"I feel very comfortable in the position that I'm in and where I'm at at this point running the offense. All the guys have bought into the system, and all the guys are working just as hard to improve themselves. Right now, we're at a stage where we feel good about what we're doing, but at the same time there's a lot of work that needs to be done to get the point we want to be at by the time game one comes."

On the hit that caused his injury:

"I didn't think it was a nasty hit. I hope not. I think he got tripped up a little bit trying to rush to make a sack. It didn't look good on film, but he came up and apologized afterwards. That made me feel good that he didn't try to do it purposely."
