Urgency and intensity.
That's what head coach Jim Zorn wants to see from the Redskins this Sunday as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at FedExField.
The Redskins are 1-2 in the early going this season and are coming off a disappointing 19-14 loss to the Detroit Lions last week.
As a result, there has been plenty of criticism directed at the team from local and national media, and Zorn has taken the brunt of it.
During this week's "The Jim Zorn Show," Zorn was asked if all the criticism was warranted.
"I look at the one statistic you just mentioned, and that's we didn't win [against Detroit]," Zorn replied. "That's what I'm concerned with. I'm looking at how we can regroup, how we can get back into our game preparation in practice and how we approach this next game. That's all I'm looking at."
Zorn also offered his scouting report of the Buccaneers during his weekly appearance on "The Jim Zorn Show," which airs on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC-WRC 4. The show is hosted by Den Hellie and Larry Weisman.
Tampa Bay has a new quarterback in second-year player Josh Johnson. The Buccaneers are struggling on offense. Last Sunday, in a 24-0 loss to the New York Giants, the offense produced just 86 total yards and five first downs.
Zorn said he expects the Buccaneers to emphasize the run so as to not put too much pressure on Johnson in the passing game.
"They are going to have to run the ball and help the young man out," Zorn said. "And I think that fits in to what our defense does well in stopping the run. That's what we have to do first--force it into that young man's hands and see what he can do with it [in the passing game]."
This week's edition of "The Jim Zorn Show" also includes a Redskins Legacy feature on Ray Flaherty and a chalk talk session on the shotgun formation.
