Opening Statement:
"From the Redskins standpoint, it was a very hard-fought game. I felt like we had gone through a lot in the last three weeks with three very tough, excruciating losses. To bounce back and play like we did today wasn't easy. This is a tough place to come to play. I think they have one of the best home records of anyone in the NFL. Our guys fought really hard. They were down earlier in the week but bounced back. I'm proud of everybody and I'm proud to be where we are, really. We have a lot to look forward to down the stretch. We'll see what happens."
On the success of the ground game:
"I don't think you ever guess or figure. Our guys want to run the football. We feel like it fits with us. You'd probably like to get the ball downfield more than we did. I think you have to give credit to the Rams. They did a good job against us from a fan standpoint. I'm proud of our guys. It's been a tough month."
On the offensive line:
Our guys really came off the ball and did a good job up front. I think Clinton had a great day. Rock had his first 100-yard rushing day in the NFL. If there's anyone who deserves it, it's Rock, not only that he rushed for 100 yards but for the way he plays on special teams. He's one of our leaders. He always is out at practices, he's like one of the coaches out there. He'll do anything to win. He is a picture of what a Redskin is all about. I know I appreciate him and so does the team.
On 4th-and-1 call in first half:
"I stick with momentum usually. You think about it there. But John Hall has been so good and so automatic that I felt it would be great to have a 10-point lead. That's the decision I made."
On Rams QB Ryan Fitzpatrick:
"We were concerned about him because we thought he was very talented. Donnie Warren scouted him in preseason and said he played extremely well. Young quarterbacks up here, we have a lot of respect for, for anyone who makes it into the league."
On Mark Brunell's fumble and subsequent safety:
"It was a simple play-action play there. What happened is our running back knocked the ball out of Mark's hands. It was smart on Mark's part to get the ball out of the end zone. It's one of those things, in which you're fighting your guts out, and then this happens. It can happen in the NFL."
On Clinton Portis's apparent injury:
"I think he got a nick on his knee. Normally it's tough to get him out of there. He's very durable. He has a great heart in wanting to rush the football and play hard. He's a tough guy."
