On how the defense played in the game versus the Eagles:
"Defensively we played very hard and physical. To hold Philly to no touchdowns we thought that was exceptional. Red Zone was very good. We started out the game and we started out the third quarter with three in outs. That's a big deal for us. Third downs were played very well. We moved the quarterback around and had some pressure. Our safeties played extremely well and didn't give up any deep shots. We had no penalties on defense. Overall, it was just a real solid effort. The defense played extremely hard. Our negatives were we missed some tackles and we had no take-aways. As a general rule we felt like we played extremely hard there. Our award winners on defense were Sean Taylor (S, #21). He had a very big day and played extremely well in the middle of the field. Carlos Rogers (CB, #22) had 12 tackles. London Fletcher (LB, #59) did a great job all day. He had 12 tackles himself and quarterbacked our defense and did a great job. Rocky McIntosh (LB, #52) had 11 tackles and continues to do extremely well. Marcus (Washington, LB, #53), it was really good to see him in there and for him to hold up with his elbow. He did a very good job for us. "
On how special teams played in the game against the Eagles:
"On special teams we had no penalties, which is a big deal for us. We won our field position battle, which is always a big deal for us. We started at the 30 and Philly started at the 25, which was a big deal. Rock (Cartwright, RB, #31) was real solid and did a great job for us. He came out to the 32, 29, 35, 38 and 32. He ran extremely hard. Derrick (Frost, P, #4) continues to do a really good job punting for us. Shaun (Suisham, K, #6) hit two field goals, of 35 and 37. Our kickoff coverage wasn't what we wanted, so we have some work to do there. We only had two kicks inside the 20 which is a big deal for us. Our award winners for special teams were Rock (Cartwright, RB, #31), he had five excellent returns for us, LaRon Landry (S, #30) had two tackles on kickoffs, Derrick Frost (P, #4) punted the ball very well. He had a 38 net. The hard hat award went to Khary Campbell (LB, #50) with two tackles. Reed Doughty (S, #37) did a great job for us. He got a couple of big hits. He's looked real good the last couple of weeks on special teams, he's been outstanding for us."
On how the offense played in the game against the Eagles:
"On Offense our pluses were we had 130 yards rushing. Jason (Campbell, QB, #17) made some outstanding plays in the game, just from the standpoint of standing in there against a real good rush from Philly. He made some real good plays for us. I'm really pleased that he made plays with his feet, coming out of there and some real good runs for us. He's also showing he's a deep threat with the ball, which is a big deal for us. We had 53 percent on third down which is very good. We handled the pressure very well. We had one sack and time of possession was on our side. We had drives of ten plays and eight plays for touchdowns, 88 yards for 10 plays and 8- for- 63 yards. It's a tough place to play as I mentioned. We seemed to handle that better than what I thought we were going to be able to. We had some guys step in when we had injuries and they played extremely well for us. Our negatives were we gave up a sack, we had four penalties and we had some drops in there. Our award winners on offense were Chris Samuels (OT, #60), Mike Sellers (FB, #45), Casey Rabach (OL, #61), he continues to do a good job for us and lead us, Jason (Campbell, QB, #17). We had several guys at honorable mention; Santana (Moss, WR, #89) stepped up and did a real good job for us, Antwaan Randle El (WR, #82), Jason Fabini (OL, #69) I mentioned stepping in for an injured guy and Todd Wade (OL, #71) had a real good start. Overall for us, it's a real tough place for us to go and play. We haven't had a lot of success there. There's obviously some things in there we didn't do well, but overall it was very physical and played very hard. That's probably the thing that I'm the proudest of. It was defense stepping up at times. It was offense stepping up and making plays or putting a drive together and certainly it was special teams. It was very hard fought. There were some shots passed out, those guys were playing hard. We knew that's what we were going to get up there. I expect the same thing this week. The bottom line is everybody has a lot at stake and everybody has very good football players. Week to week it's going to be a real battle. It's a war, but it's a bunch of battles and we've been in two battles."
On Randy Thomas's status after his injury:
"Randy (Thomas, OG, #77) will get operated on in the morning. They took an MRI of it today and felt like he definitely needs surgery. We're just going to have to evaluate it after tomorrow morning, what we think would be the time frame for him coming back."
On if he thinks Randy Thomas (OG, #77) will play again this season:
"I think that will be determined tomorrow after the surgery. It has to be surgically repaired. Basically it's the tricep coming off the bone. As to what extent that is, I don't know."
On how he plans to move forward at right guard:
"I would say just the way we were in the game. Jason (Fabini, OL, #69) is a real veteran; he really stepped in and did a great job for us. He's very conscious, he's very smart. He worked extremely hard to make the team and it showed that he's been around, played a bunch, he stepped in, didn't panic, and he did a real good job for us."
On Jason Fabini (OL, #69) having two false starts:
"Yeah, he did. We had four total, which upset all of us. I know he mentioned it to me last night when I congratulated him getting on the plane, that he was upset that he had a couple of false starts."
On losing Jon Jansen (OT, #76) (ankle injury) then Randy Thomas (OG, #77) (tricep injury):
"Obviously, when you start out the season and you have two veteran, proven guys, you hate it for them. They made great preparation. I don't know if Jon (Jansen, OT, #76) had missed a play, he's one of our leaders for sure. Both of those guys are dynamic leaders in the locker room. They come to play. Our players all know it. I told Jon, when I saw him today, that we want him back over here every minute that he can be here. It will be the same thing with Randy, whenever we determine how long that's going to be, certainly he's a big part of what we do here, both of them are. We want to keep them here with the team, in the meetings. They've made a huge investment with their life and everything else in to this football team and so we want them to be here. As far as what it does to you, you're going to have to have some other guys step up and play. It's really tough when you see something like that happen. It's almost like I couldn't believe it, two guys in a row, two weeks in a row. Hopefully everybody will say a prayer for this guys getting healthy and for us and the guys that are going to be taking their place. Some guys are going to have to really step up for us, and I think two of them did this week."
On what the team will miss the most about Jon Jansen (OT, #76) and Randy Thomas (OG, #77):
"It's their play and leadership. I think when guys like that are exceptional players, they also carrying a leadership role with it, whether they say anything or not. Guys respond to that. None of us want to see that happen, and like I said it was kind of hard for me to believe it did happen."
On Todd Wade (OL, #71) and Jason Fabini (OL, #69) stepping in as veteran players:
"It gives you a confidence of knowing the guys have started in the League and it does mean a lot. Coaches, just like us, you're not going to put somebody in there unless you trust them. You're not going to play them over a period of time unless you trust them. I think it says, these guys have past histories of playing in the League so people think alot of them. Several people recommend Jason (Fabini, OL, #69) to us, and Todd (Wade, OL, #71) of course was a big part of our off-season, talking to him long and hard. Wanted to try it at guard, still probably could play him in there if we had to, but obviously he likes that tackle spot."
