Khary Campbell Put On IR; Sykes Signed

The Redskins have placed linebacker Khary Campbell on injured reserve, ending his season. Campbell has been slowed by a hamstring injury, suffered in the Dec. 24 game at St. Louis.

Taking Campbell's place on the roster is rookie defensive end Joe Sykes.

Campbell had been listed as questionable heading into Saturday night's season finale against the New York Giants. But he likely would have been deactivated for the game anyway.

Campbell finishes the season as the Redskins' leader on special teams, with 33 stops (21 solo). He has served as a reserve middle linebacker most of the season.

Campbell earned his first NFL start at Indianapolis in Week 8 when Lemar Marshall was sidelined with a knee injury.

Sykes, an undrafted rookie free agent signed by the team last May, earned a spot on the Redskins' practice squad after an impressive preseason. The 6-2, 266-pound defensive lineman is a product of Southern A&M.

Right tackle Jon Jansen (calf) and center Casey Rabach (hand) remain listed as probable on the Redskin' injury report.
