After a four-touchdown performance in an improbable comeback victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins has been named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week.*

Fresh off his four-touchdown performance Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – a game in which he led the team to its largest come-from-behind victory in franchise history – Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins on Wednesday was announced by the league as the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week.
It's the first Player of the Week award for Cousins, who was also voted as the FedEx Air Player of the Week last season for his Week 3 performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Cousins is a nominee for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award again this week, as well as the Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week. You can vote for Cousins for the FedEx award here and the Castrol EDGE award here.
Cousins on Sunday completed 33-of-40 passes for 317 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed three times for 15 yards, including a rushing touchdown.
His career-best 33 receptions tied Jason Campbell's franchise record set previously on Nov. 18, 2007, against the Dallas Cowboys. He also became the first quarterback in the team's 83-year history to complete more than 80 percent of his passes with 300-plus yards, three-plus touchdowns and no interceptions.

Perhaps more importantly, Cousins helped lead the Redskins (3-4) on an improbable comeback vs. the Buccaneers.
Down 24-0 in the second quarter, the Redskins, thanks to a Cousins rushing touchdown and two passing touchdowns, would score 21 unanswered points over the second and third quarters.
Then, his six-yard touchdown throw to tight end Jordan Reed with about 30 seconds remaining in the game tied the score at 30, and kicker Dustin Hopkins' extra point was the game-winner.
Prior to Sunday's game, Washington had previously overcame 21-point deficits to win three times in team history, but never came back to win when down 24 points:
- 10/3/1999: 21 points vs. Carolina (trailed 21-0, won 38-36)
- 11/4/1990: 21 points at Detroit (trailed 35-13, won 41-38 in overtime)
- 11/28/1965: 21 points vs. Dallas (trailed 21-0, won 34-31)
Cousins, whose 124.7 passer rating on Sunday was the highest of any start in his career, also became the first Redskins quarterback since 1960 to record three 30-completion games in a single season.
The Redskins are on their Bye Week this week, and return Nov. 8 to take on the undefeated New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass.
