The Washington Redskins will begin their home slate against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 of the preseason on Thursday night.

10:41 p.m. -- FINAL: Bengals 23, Redskins 13

Redskins drop their home debut and fall to 0-2 in the preseason.

10:24 p.m. -- Newly-signed quarterback Jalan McClendon is in at quarterback now for the Redskins. First play is a 14-yard gain to reserve receiver Jehu Chesson. Second pass is a deep ball that Kelvin Harmon jumps over the defensive back to catch for a massive gain. However, Cincinnati challenges for offensive pass interference and wins, negating the result of the play.

10:22 p.m. -- BENGALS 23, REDSKINS 13 (6:18 4Q)

Redskins give up a punt return touchdown for the second straight game, this time allowing Alex Erickson to go 75 yards for the score.

9:42 p.m. -- REDSKINS 13, BENGALS 13 (3:11 3Q)

Cincinnati takes advantage of the short field and caps the drive with a three-yard touchdown.

9:37 p.m. -- Turnover No. 3 for Haskins this preseason comes after the rookie takes a big hit while trying to get rid of the ball. Veteran left tackle missed the block that resulted in the hit and therefore the turnover. Cincinnati takes over at the Washington 25-yard line.

9:29 p.m. -- Midway through the third quarter, and we have still yet to see a pair of rookies: wide receiver Terry McLaurin and middle linebacker Cole Holcomb. McLaurin played just one snap in the preseason opener, while Holcomb started in place of the injured Shaun Dion Hamilton.

9:15 p.m. -- Haskins begins the second half with a first-down completion to tight end J.P. Holtz, but the drive stalls over the next couple of plays. Out comes Tress Way, who boots a 64-yard punt to pin the Bengals back at their own 3-yard line.

Haskins throws his first-career NFL touchdown just before halftime. On 3rd-and-8, Haskins hangs in the pocket and takes a hit but is able to deliver an on-target deep ball to a streaking Robert Davis for a 55-yard touchdown. Davis now has two of the Redskins' three touchdowns this preseason and the only two offensive scores.

8:35 p.m. -- Tough break for the Redskins. On 4th-and-2 from the opposing 47-yard line, Keenum hit an open Steven Sims down the right sideline for what would have set up Washington at the 3-yard line. However, Cam Sims was called for pass interference. Gruden challenges, but the call was upheld. Way boots his second punt of the game. REDSKINS 6, BENGALS 6 (7:32 2Q).

8:29 p.m. -- Keenum connects with Vernon Davis down the seam for a 26-yard pickup on first down. First-team offense is still in, with Doctson, Cam Sims and Steven Sims Jr. in as the wide receivers. Steven Sims in playing in place of Trey Quinn, who has been dealing with a thumb injury.

Impressive drive from Cincinnati. Bengals go 93 yards on 12 plays against the Redskins second-team defense to knot the score at six thanks to a five-yard touchdown pass from rookie Ryan Finley. Extra point is no good.

Main takeaway from the first quarter was the dominance of the starting defense. Penalties carried the Bengals on their opening drive, and they could barely move the ball at all during their next two series. Much has been said about the Redskins' defensive unit this offseason and into training camp, and they passed their first test Thursday night.

7:56 p.m. -- Case Keenum gets the start under center, with Adrian Peterson behind him and Brian Quick and Josh Doctson as the wide receivers. First play goes to Peterson, who explodes around the left side for a 26-yard gain. Redskins already past midfield.

The Redskins came out in a nickel package, with Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Ryan Kerrigan and Montez Sweat up front, Jon Bostic and Josh Harvey-Clemons in the middle and Josh Norman, Landon Collins, Montae Nicholson, Fabian Moreau and Quinton Dunbar in the secondary.
