As the Burgundy and Gold travel north to Toronto to face the Buffalo Bills, their season is on the verge of going in the opposite direction.
The football season is delivering the kinds of injury setbacks it usually does, but last year that didn't seem to bother the Green Bay Packers, who had 15 players on injured reserve. The Redskins only have three.
It's time to see if this team improved its depth in the offseason. Sad that we won't see Tim Hightower or Chris Cooley for the rest of this season, but let's see what Roy Helu and Logan Paulsen can do. Sad to see Santana Moss go down, but this is why this coaching staff kept so many receivers. Someone make a play!
For those who were sucked in to the Redskins' 2-0 start, shame on you! You know how this thing works. This is and will remain another rebuilding season with the hopes of becoming a potential playoff participant.
The good thing for the Redskins is that despite their two-game slide the NFC East has the potential to be last year's NFC West: a very average record for the division winner! Remember the awful Seahawks last year hosting and beating the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints in the first round of the playoffs?
John Beck did not play too bad last week against the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton just happened to play better. The same could happen this week in Toronto with Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Armed with a brand new contract extension, Fitzpatrick and company are coming off a bye as the No. 3 ranked offense in the league. Definitely not your typical Bills.
With that being said, this Bills team can be beaten and the Redskins have enough talent to do it. This Sunday's game, then next week at home against San Francisco and then on the road at Miami will speak volumes on where this team really is.
It's funny that in just six games this team has gone right back to where it was during training camp. Experts were not expecting much while veterans on the roster were saying that they like flying under the radar, being underdogs and proving people wrong.
