One day after a disappointing 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, several Redskins players said that Rex Grossman should remain the starting quarterback.

The most prominent among the players -- wide receiver Santana Moss, a team captain -- was also the most passionate.

"No question," Moss said. "It's not even something that should be asked. When it comes down to playing we know that you can't just give up on somebody because they had a bad outing."

Grossman threw four interceptions and completed just 9-of-22 passes for 143 yards before he was benched at the end of the third quarter.

Backup quarterback John Beck started the fourth quarter and completed 8-of-15 passes for 117 yards. He also ran for a 2-yard touchdown to cut the Eagles lead to seven points, but the Redskins could get no closer.

Moss said that players on offense have to execute better to help Grossman.

"I just feel like you can't put it all on him," Moss said. "Yes, he threw the ball. Yes, he's the guy that's going to get blamed. Yes, it's his decision, but as an offensive corps we have to make better plays for him."

While he passionately supported Grossman, Moss said he does trusts Beck as well.

"I'm confident in both guys," he said.

Fullback Darrel Young is also behind Grossman.

"Everyone made mistakes it's not just Rex, you can't pinpoint it on one guy," Young said.

When asked if he thought Grossman should get another chance to start, Young replied, "Absolutely, I think everyone deserves another chance."
