Defensive end Phillip Daniels has been placed on injured reserve due to an abdominal injury.
He suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Daniels announced the news on his Twitter account: "Thanks for all the love. I have been placed on IR which means you have seen the last of me on the field this year. Time to get healthy."
Head coach Mike Shanahan confirmed the news in his Monday press conference.
"He got beat up in the game," Shanahan said. "He went out and tried to play. He'll be out more than two weeks, so he'll go on IR."
In addition to his abdominal injury, Daniels also had groin and hamstring injuries, Shanahan said.
Daniels, a 15-year veteran, finished the season with 29 tackles and two sacks.
Daniels was replaced by veteran defensive lineman Vonnie Holliday in the Cowboys game. Second-year player Jeremy Jarmon also saw action in place of Daniels.
The team is expected to promote practice squad linebacker Rob Jackson to the 53-man roster to take Daniels' roster spot.
-- DOUGHTY CONCUSSION CONFIRMED
Reed Doughty was diagnosed with a head injury during Sunday's game vs. Dallas.
On Monday, Mike Shanahan confirmed he had suffered a concussion.
Doughty said he may have suffered the concussion on the first play of the game. He continued to play but he "didn't feel right" as the game progressed.
"It just got worse, so I came out," Doughty said.
He called his status day to day.
"I wasn't knocked out or anything like that, but at the same time we want to be cautious," he said. "I have a chance to come back this week, but we'll just take it day by day."
-- ORAKPO UNCERTAIN FOR PRACTICE THIS WEEK
Linebacker Brian Orakpo suffered hamstring and groin injuries in Sunday's game vs. Dallas.
Coaches won't know his status until Wednesday when the team returns to practice.
"He's still pretty dinged up," Mike Shanahan said. "I think we'll have a better indication on Wednesday of exactly where he's at."
Orakpo leads the Redskins' defense with 8.5 sacks. His backup is Chris Wilson.
Linebacker Rocky McIntosh also missed time vs. Dallas with a hamstring injury. He is expected to be back for this week's game against Jacksonville.
