Albert Haynesworth returned to Redskins Park on Thursday, one week after his brother's death in a motorcycle accident in Tennessee.
Haynesworth participated in the Redskins' jog-through practice, which was moved to an airport hangar due to heavy rains in the Washington, D.C., area.
Head coach Mike Shanahan said that Haynesworth's availability for this Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts would be a "game time decision."
"Anytime you're away for six days, there's a loss of conditioning obviously," Shanahan said. "We'll want to see where he's at both physically and mentally. We understand what happened, and we understand the crisis that he was dealing with. Hopefully he can get back in shape."
Haynesworth left the team last Friday for a series of services for his brother in Tennessee and South Carolina.
After a tumultuous training camp and preseason, Haynesworth had been showing signs of progress in the Redskins' defense.
In the Redskins' Week 4 game at Philadelphia, Haynesworth posted four tackles and penetrated into the Eagles' backfield several times.
For the season, Haynesworth has eight tackles and six quarterback hurries in three games played.

Left tackle Trent Williams tested his knee injury in Thursday's jog-through practice, Mike Shanahan said.
His status remains uncertain for this Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
"It's really hard to tell when you go through a jog-through," Shanahan said. "We'll have a better indication [on Friday]. But he took all of the reps, so that's a good sign."
Before practice, Williams declared himself "pretty much ready to go" for Sunday's game.
He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's game vs. Green Bay.
Williams is expected to match up against Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney, a five-time Pro Bowler.
"I don't know if anybody in the world can prepare you for Freeney," Williams said. "He's just a different type of guy. He brings a load of different moves. You have to study him and even then, you're still not really safe. He brings everything. It's going to be a challenge."
If Williams is unable to play, then he would likely be replaced by Stephon Heyer.
Right tackle Jammal Brown has been full-go in practice this week, coming back from a knee injury as well.

With Chris Cooley back in the starting lineup, Fred Davis has not been as involved in the Redskins' passing game this season.
Last year, with Cooley sidelined with a fractured ankle, Davis emerged as a viable replacement, catching 48 passes for 509 yards and six touchdowns.
This year, he has just three catches for 73 yards in four games.
Davis has seen action in two tight end sets and has been used as a blocker.
"I understand you have other guys out there," Davis said. "Usually it's one guy probably getting most of the passes, and the other guy might do blocking and get a few passes. I'm just fine whatever my role is and I'll do the best I can do."
Davis, in his third NFL season, said he sees opportunities in the Redskins' new offense.
"There are a lot of holes [in defenses] out there and there are a lot of plays that can be made," he said.
