On today's edition of NFC East Intel we look at the Eagles' offensive performance in Week 5, the Giants' field position battle and the Cowboys starting a new quarterback*

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Headline:Josh Huff Has Breakout Game Of Sorts Against The New Orleans Saints

The 2014 third-round pick has his best game as a professional last Sunday, as he recorded four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.

What this means for the Redskins:After a rather disappointing rookie season and a sluggish start to his sophomore campaign, Huff finally showed something with his performance against the Saints, recording receiving career highs across the board with his first career touchdown.

The Eagles had been waiting for their investment, an Oregon product who played under Chip Kelly, to produce, especially with Sam Bradford's conjoining slow start to the campaign.

"Josh, in general as a player, is an extremely dynamic player," Kelly said via CSN Philly. "I think he's got the ability to change direction, stop and start. He's really good with the football in his hands; that's why he's doing a great job of returning for us."

The Eagles' hope is that Huff can be a quality third target alongside Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor.

Headline:Eagles Using More Two-Tight End Sets

Limiting their using both Zach Ertz and Brent Celek at the same time during their first four games of the season, the Eagles did so against the Saints. It helped jumpstart an offense that scored 39 points.

What this means for the Redskins:Both Ertz and Celek are quality tight ends for the Eagles, but Kelly rarely used them together during the first quarter of the season.

That changed on Sunday against the Saints, as they played more than 25 percent of the Eagles' offensive snaps together according to Philly.com.

The duo combined for eight catches for more than 100 yards and a touchdown.

They also helped set up the Eagles' best production of the season in the run game, as both DeMarco Murray and each ran for at least 70 yards and a touchdown

"We knew going into the game Brent and I were going to have more opportunities," Ertz said. "I thought we did a good job. We were successful with both of us in the game, and hopefully it's something that continues."

NEW YORK GIANTS

Headline:Giants Finding Success With New Punter Brad Wing

Electing to move on from Steve Weatherford after five seasons, the Giants made a trade with the Steelers for Wing. It's paid off to this point.

What this means for the Redskins:Through five games this season, Wing has been one of the league's best punters.

The LSU product has done an excellent job pinning opposing offenses back deep into their own territory, with an average starting field position at the 21-yard line. That is nearly seven yards better than the league average.

Even more, the Giants have downed more than half of his punts this season and have yet to surrender a touchback.

"The offense is doing a good job of putting us in positions where you can punt it down there," Giants special-teams coordinator Tom Quinn said via The Wall Street Journal. "You try to get it inside the 10 [yard line], really, to affect field position and play calls on the other side. It's different calling a play at the five, at the 10, at the 20, so you don't want to get too greedy and have a touchback."

With the Giants set to play the Eagles on Monday Night Football this week, eyes will be on Wing, especially if the game is close, after the memorable DeSean Jackson return touchdown in 2010.

DALLAS COWBOYS

Headline:Cowboys Reportedly Making Change At Quarterback

ESPN's Ed Werder is reporting that the Cowboys are going to start veteran Matt Cassel after their Week 6 bye instead of Brandon Weeden.

What this means for the Redskins: Well, it didn't take very long for the Cowboys to pull the plug on Brandon Weeden, a former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns.

Weeden, who had been playing in place of the injured Tony Romo, started off his 2015 season hot, completing 21 start passes in games between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. It was also a team record for consecutive completions.

But the Cowboys are now 0-3 in games started by Weeden, and he had just two touchdowns on the season.

In steps Cassel, a player the Cowboys acquired from the Bills in a recent trade.

The USC product is now on his fifth team in his 11 NFL seasons. He was in a three-way training camp race for the Bills' starting quarterback gig, a role that was eventually won by Tyrod Taylor.

For his career, Cassel has nearly 16,000 yards and 96 touchdowns to 70 interceptions.

Headline:Cowboys Schedule A Workout For LaMichael James

James, a former second-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers, is reportedly set to work out for Dallas. He is best known for his return ability.

What this means for the Redskins: While the Cowboys may be set at the running back position, James could be looked at as a possible replacement for Lance Dunbar (out for the season with a torn ACL) in the return game.

Most recently, James appeared in the Miami Dolphins' 2015 season opener against the Redskins at FedExField, returning two kickoffs for 54 yards. He fumbled once, but it was recovered.

In five NFL season, James, a former Oregon Duck, has recorded 792 kickoff return yards, 251 punt return yards, 193 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards.

The Cowboys currently have three running backs – Darren McFadden, Christine Michael and Joseph Randle – on the active roster.
