The Redskins re-signed offensive lineman Pita Elisara to the offseason roster on Thursday. Elisara, who can play both tackle and guard, spent the 2004 season on the Redskins' practice squad.
Elisara, who hails from American Samoa and played his collegiate ball at Indiana, was with the Redskins for part of the 2003 season as well. He was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster in December 2003 and served as a backup offensive lineman.
The team has also announced that Elisara will be allocated to NFL Europe. That brings the number of Redskins to play in the developmental league this spring to eight.
It will be Elisara's third stint in NFL Europe. In spring 2004, he played left tackle for the Rhein Fire. A year earlier, he played for the Scottish Claymores after being assigned to the league by the Philadelphia Eagles.
