Pierre Garçon Full Transcript: 07/27

On Saturday, July 27, 2013, Redskins WR Pierre Garçon addressed the media following morning walkthrough of training camp at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va.

.

On how having him and tight end Fred Davis healthy will affect the offense:

"It's added weapons on the field with Fred being out there, being able to do a lot of great things from the inside part of the field. He can split the defense and take it to the house whenever he gets the ball. He's a good runner after the catch. He's a fast guy, big guy. He demands attention in the middle of the field. I try to do my part on the outside. It's a lot of weapons for our offense. We have to capitalize on that and it will be a great thing when we're both out there together making plays."

On his toe and how he felt coming into training camp:

"I'm feeling good. Feeling good and getting rehab every day. But I'm good and nothing crazy, nothing major going on. I'm just getting back into playing football."

On what he considers a good measure of success this season:

"Well, our goal is to win the Super Bowl. We line up every day to play towards that. It's what we come to work for, so if we don't win the Super Bowl, it's kind of like a failure. It's what we work towards. If we don't win the Super Bowl it's not good enough obviously. We have a lot of great players, a lot of great guys on the team, but our number one goal is to win the Super Bowl, and that's all we really play for. Anything else is coming up short."

On throwing footballs to fans during practice:

"It's nothing special, just giving the fans a little souvenir from practice. A lot of fans come out to Training Camp and sometimes they don't get nothing. They don't get an autograph or nothing, so hopefully one of them catches a football and get to keep a football."

On if he expected reaction to his comment that the offense could be 'the greatest ever':

"I didn't expect much reaction because I said that we have the chance to be. We have the players. We have a lot of great players on our team to help us be one of the best ever – it's the potential to be the best. I think every offense for every team lining up this year [thinks], 'We could be the best ever. If we play right, if the ball bounces our way and we get lucky and make plays, it doesn't take much to be considered the best ever. It's always going to be a debate about it, but we have playmakers at every position – we have a great offensive line, great running backs, two tight ends that can take it to the house, we have great receivers, a great quarterback that can throw it far and run the ball to the house. So with explosive players all around the field, you can make plays and any player can take it to the house. That's why I said basically we have good guys around us that can make plays."

On how much he enjoys playing in this offense:

"I enjoy it, I enjoy it a lot. Coach Shanahan has done a great job getting everybody the ball and being able to run after the catch or make plays after we get the ball in our hands. It's a great offense to be a part of. I'm glad Coach got me in this offense and they're trying to get me the ball and we have the ability to make plays in this offense."

On progress of quarterback Robert Griffin III:

"He is looking good. He is doing a lot of great things. He is on pace. He is throwing the ball well. He has to continue to keep doing the same things so he can get used to it so that it becomes natural when it is game time. But he is on the right track to do those right things and on pace to be ready for whenever he's back out there."

On his comfort level with offense in his second season with the Redskins:

"I know the playbook now so it's not learning a new system, it's advancing in the system. It's already knowing what they are going to say, just sharpening up the tools and sharpening up what we already know. So it is not second guessing myself, it's advancing things to my natural abilities now, knowing that I am doing the right things, knowing where I am supposed to be at, and just moving forward, letting my natural abilities and natural skills move forward with what I already know."
