NFL Europe League has helped develop football in Europe and generate interest in the sport around the world. As a League and a developmental program it has proven beneficial to current Redskins safety Todd Franz, quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, defensive lineman Cedric Killings, defensive tackle Brandon Noble, and defensive end Demetric Evans. Evans spent the 2004 NFLEL campaign with the Cologne Centurions and later played in 12 games with eight starts collecting 31 tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Redskins in 2004.
