The wait for preseason opponents is over.
On Tuesday, the Washington Redskins announced their four-game preseason schedule for 2019, which is as follows:
- Week 1, Aug. 8-12 (Time TBD): at Cleveland Browns
- Week 2, Aug. 15-19 (Time TBD): vs. Cincinnati Bengals
- Week 3, Aug. 22-25 (Time TBD): at Atlanta Falcons
- Week 4, Aug. 29 (Time TBD): vs. Baltimore Ravens
All four games will be televised locally on NBC4 and NBC Sports Washington. Specific dates and times for these games will be determined at a later date.
Additionally, all four games can be heard on the Redskins Radio Network, including on The Team 980 and WMAL (105.9 FM/630 AM) in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Week 1 @ Cleveland Browns
The Redskins open up preseason play with a visit to Cleveland that touts former New York Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr., 2018 NFL Draft first-overall selection Baker Mayfield and new head coach Freddie Kitchens. The Browns have made headlines all offseason thanks primarily to the swap with New York, pairing Beckham and former college teammate Jarvis Landry together.
The matchup marks the third meeting between the two franchises in the past six preseasons, with the Redskins as victors in both matchups (2014, 2015). It will also mark the debut of Redskins safety Landon Collins in burgundy and gold.

Week 2 vs Cincinnati Bengals
The Redskins will open up FedExField for the first time to host the Bengals, who return to Landover, Md., for the second time in three preseasons, now led by their new head coach Zac Taylor.
The Redskins defeated the Bengals 23-17 in Week 3 of the 2017 preseason, where Chris Thompson led all Redskins pass catchers in receiving yards, while Colt McCoy led the offense, completing 8-of-11 pass attempts with a touchdown and a 121.8 passer rating. Additionally, the Redskins have won four of their five preseason home openers under head coach Jay Gruden.
Week 3 @ Atlanta Falcons
Washington will make its first visit to the state-of-the-art Mercedes Benz Stadium, as it will serve as host for the Week 3 "rehearsal" game, where projected starters typically receive their most in-game reps of the preseason in their final tune-up for Week 1 of the regular season. Washington is 10-6 all-time in preseason play against the Falcons.
Week 4 vs Baltimore Ravens
A frequent preseason opponent, the I-95 rival Ravens will square off with the Redskins for the fifth time in the last six preseasons. This time, however, the game will take place at FedExField.
Week 4 of the preseason marks the point where depth charts are tested. Projected starters are frequently rested, as coaches use the game to identify players who could become major contributors to the roster heading into final cuts. Current Redskins wide receiver Cam Sims used last year's preseason to his advantage, recording five receptions for 131 yards, ultimately garnering him a roster spot prior to Week 1.
