A season ago, the Washington Redskins made their preseason debut against the Bills on the road in Buffalo, bringing all of the hype and expectations of a revamped roster ready to win.
The Redskins showed none of the read-option offense, having Robert Griffin III stay in for two series until the team scored on a Pierre Garcon touchdown.
That proved to be the difference in the contest, as the Redskins defense held the Bills to a pair of field goals, securing a 7-6 victory.
Fast-forward to today's contest and it was a vastly different storyline landscape. Griffin III appeared on the field in warmups but remained sidelined with an ACL injury sustained during his sensational rookie season.
Likewise, the Bills lacked their odds-on favorite at starting quarterback E.J. Manuel out with a knee injury of his own.
Instead, the starting quarterback slate featured journeyman Kevin Kolb vs. veteran Rex Grossman, as the Redskins put a hurting on the Buffalo Bills in Washington.

No. 1: Pierre Garcon Strikes Again
The Redskins hero in last year's contest struck again tonight, catching just one pass on the day for a seven-yard touchdown.
The play was set up by a 31-yard reception by tight end Fred Davis that got the Redskins into the red zone on the offense's opening drive.
Putting the pressure on, Grossman threw once incomplete to Garcon in the end zone, bringing up second down from the 7-yard line.
Taking the snap on second down, Grossman targeted Garcon over the middle for the first score of the game:

No. 2: Pat White Keeps It Himself
After today, Redskins quarterback Pat White has two touchdown this preseason, and both have come with his legs instead of his arm.
In Tennessee, White led the fourth quarter comeback with a nine-yard uncontested sprint.
Today, he met adversity at the line of scrimmage, but protected the football, lowered his head and followed fullback Darrel Young 14 yards to paydirt:

No. 3: Williams Won't Back Down
Coming into today's contest, Redskins running back Keiland Williams had 10 rushes this preseason for 50 yards.
He equaled that production tonight, taking the ball in the fourth quarter and ripping off two long runs on his way to eight carries for 52 yards.
He needed no such lengthy run to put points on the board, however, as he took the one-yard plunge on 4th-and-1 from the 1-yard line:
