The Washington Redskins have been linked to quarterback Dwayne Haskins throughout the draft process, and the possibility of him landing in Washington became more and more likely as quarterback-needy teams, such as the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins, went in different directions during the NFL Draft on Thursday night.
Redskins running back Derrius Guice was paying close attention to these developments, so when the Dolphins selected a defensive lineman with the 13th pick, Guice had a feeling Haskins would end up in Washington.
Moments later, the Redskins confirmed Guice's inkling by drafting Haskins 15th overall, prompting a slew of congratulatory tweets from his new teammates.
Redskins outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, himself a first-round pick in 2011, also had a video message for Haskins as he gets ready to start his NFL career.
