On a frigid afternoon in the Meadowlands, the Redskins were unable to keep up with the Giants in a season-ending loss. Washington finished the season with a 7-9 record.

Fourth Quarter: Redskins 10, Giants 18
On a drive that started in the third quarter, the Giants capped off a 10-play possession with a made chip shot field goal by Aldrick Rosas to extend New York's lead to eight.

After the Redskins did not gain any momentum on their first drive of the fourth quarter, Kirk Cousins and Co. got the ball moving on their second appearance of the frame. Cousins would complete passes to Josh Doctson and Jamison Crowder.

However, Washington could not complete a 3rd-and-5 play for a new set of downs, forcing Tress Way to come out for his ninth punt of the afternoon. The punt was downed at the two-yard line.

While New York was able to get out of the shadows of its own goal posts, Washington forced the Giants into their ninth punt of the last 10 possessions.

However, Cousins was picked off for a third time on the afternoon with less than three minutes remaining in the game. The quarterback slid to his left to avoid pressure in the pocket, but his attempted completion to Ryan Grant was jumped.

The Giants would work the ball down to the one-yard line before Eli Manning downed the ball three times to end the game.

Third Quarter: Redskins 10, Giants 15
While the Redskins got the ball to start the second half, Kirk Cousins underthrew an attempted deep pass to Ryan Grant early on Washington's debut drive of the third frame. Despite the interception, the defense was able to hold the Giants' offense into a three-and-out situation.

Midway through the quarter, the Redskins were able to get into Giants territory but a 48-yard field goal attempt by Dustin Hopkins was off-target.

Early on the drive, the Redskins went to Kapri Bibbs on back-to-back plays to get Washington to New York's 30-yard line before Hopkins missed his field goal try.

Off the miss, D.J. Swearinger forced a fumble with a punch but the Giants would recover the ball. However, the Giants would convert on a 2nd-and-20 before Washington's defense settled down to force a punt at midfield.

Just before the end of the quarter, the Giants worked the ball inside the Redskins' 20 yard line.

Second Quarter: Redskins 10, Giants 15
Early in the second quarter, Kirk Cousins hit the 4,000-yard mark in passing yards with a third down completion to Jamison Crowder. He is the first quarterback in franchise history to have three 4,000-yard seasons, all of which have come in the last three years.

On the drive in which Cousins hit 4,000 yards, the quarterback needled a pass to Vernon Davis on 2nd-and-30 for a gain of 19 yards. However, Cousins would be sacked one play after the completion before Tress Way came on to punt.

The offense continued to struggle moving the ball, as Way once again came out to punt on the Redskins' next appearance. Way's fourth punt went for 51 yards before Quinton Dunbar stopped the Giants' return for a one-yard loss.

On the last play before the two-minute warning, Ryan Kerrigan logged his 12th sack of the season. Then just before halftime, Kerrigan recorded another sack.

In the process, became the first member of the Redskins to post 2.0 or more sacks in consecutive games since Andre Carter in Weeks 5-6 of the 2009 season.

On the final play of the half, Dustin Hopkins made a 49-yard field goal.

First Quarter: Redskins 7, Giants 15
After winning the opening coin toss, the Redskins elected to defer to the second half giving Washington's defense the opportunity to take the field first on Sunday.

The Redskins would be on the field for just two plays, though, as Orleans Darkwa would score a 75-yard touchdown. The extra point attempt, however, was blocked.

On Kirk Cousins' first attempt of the game, the quarterback was pressured into throwing an interception that was returned to Washington's 19-yard line. On the opening drive, Samaje Perine went down with an injury before being helped off the field by the team's medical staff.

New York took advantage of the turnover, as Eli Manning threw a 16-yard touchdown to Hunter Sharp. The Giants would go for a two-point conversion, but the Redskins forced an incompletion.

While the Giants appeared ready to strike once again on their third drive, Preston Smith would pick off Eli Manning and return it to the New York 20-yard line.

It would take the Redskins just two plays to get their first points of the game, as Cousins kept the ball for a 12-yard score on a 2nd-and-2 play. Dustin Hopkins would make his extra point attempt to pull Washington within five.

The Giants were able to tack on a field goal off the Redskins' touchdown, driving 65 yards in eight plays before Aldrick Rosas made a 23-yard attempt.

Washington's ensuing drive got started with a 20-yard reception by Ryan Grant before Washington went back to the air to Kapri Bibbs, as the running back picked up 14 yards.
