"We will be working on improving many areas of our football team this offseason and during training camp," head coach Mike Shanahan said. "The preseason will give us an opportunity to test ourselves against other quality teams in the National Football League."
The Redskins do not play any nationally televised preseason games this year.
All four preseason games will be broadcast locally on NBC-4 and Comcast SportsNet.
The Bills game marks the preseason debut of Mike Shanahan as Redskins head coach.
The Week 2 matchup vs. Baltimore is the fifth time in the last six years that the Redskins and Ravens have faced off in preseason.
The Redskins' first preseason road trip--in Week 3 vs. the Jets--takes place at the new Meadowlands Stadium.
In Week 4 of preseason, the Redskins take on the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium in a game that starts at 10 p.m. ET.
At first glance, it appears the Redskins' preseason schedule is once again a difficult one.
Three of the four opponents (Ravens, Jets, Cardinals) were 2009 playoff teams, and the Jets made it to the AFC Championship game last year.
The opener against Buffalo is noteworthy because head coach Mike Shahanan interviewed for the Bills head coaching job prior to accepting the Redskins' job.
Washington and Buffalo also opened the 2008 preseason at FedExField, with the Redskins winning 17-14.
The Week 2 preseason game vs. Baltimore marks the return of former head coach Jim Zorn, who is now the Ravens' quarterbacks coach.
Last year, the Ravens defeated the Redskins 23-0 at M&T Bank Stadium to open preseason.
The last time Washington and the New York Jets played in preseason was 2008, with the Redskins prevailing 13-10 at the Meadowlands.
The Redskins-Cardinals preseason finale is the farthest the Redskins have traveled for a preseason games since playing San Francisco in the American Bowl in Osaka, Japan, in 2002.
It also marks the Redskins' longest preseason road trip in the continental United States since 1992, when they traveled to Los Angeles to play the Raiders.
The last time the Redskins and Cardinals played in preseason was 1971, with the Redskins winning 20-13 at RFK Stadium.
