The Washington Redskins on Friday and Saturday are playing host to 65 roster hopefuls – team draft picks, college free agent signings, first-year veterans and players invited on a tryout basis – for their rookie minicamp at Redskins Park in Loudoun County, Va.
Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan said one aspect of rookie minicamp, more than others, gets him excited.
"Competition," McCloughan said this week. "The young guys, we've added a lot of guys through the draft and through college free agency – even tryout guys – and just seeing the guys out there competing. It's all about getting better every freakin' day, and with the guys coming in here, I'm so excited about not just their talent on the field, but with how they're wired. I want them to step up and show who they are."
