OTHER SIGNIFICANT CHANGES

Redskins:

• Last week against the New York Jets, both quarterback Dwayne Haskins and running back Derrius Guice scored their first-career touchdowns during their home debuts. Guice scored on a 45-yard screen pass from Haskins in the fourth quarter.
• With Paul Richardson out last week, rookie wideout Kelvin Harmon played 93% of the snaps -- the most of any receiver -- and recorded career highs in targets (six), catches (five) and receiving yards (53).

Lions:

• In January, the Lions hired Darrell Bevell to replace Jim Bob Cooter, who was with Detroit since 2014, as the team's new offensive coordinator. Through 11 weeks, Bevell's unit ranks eighth in the NFL in terms of average yards gained per game.
• With Detroit's starting quarterback Matthew Stafford missing two consecutive games due to a back injury, Jeff Driskel has filled in under center. Against Dallas last week, Driskel accounted for two touchdowns while throwing for 209 yards in the loss.
• After Kerryon Johnson went down with a knee injury in Week 7, the Lions have rotated several running backs, including Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic, in and out of the lineup. Last week, it was Bo Scarborough's turn after the team activated him last Saturday after signing him to the practice squad Nov. 6. Scarborough, a seventh-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2018, rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown in his first NFL game.

STORYLINES/THINGS TO WATCH

• Redskins searching for their first home win -- After going winless in their first five games at home this season, Washington will get another chance to pick up that first win Sunday against the Lions. If that is to happen, the Redskins will need solid play from rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who made his first-career home start in Week 11, throwing for 214 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
• Emergence of Derrius Guice -- Returning after a nine-week absence, the second-year running back appeared in just 29% of the offense's overall snaps but was impressive in the action he saw. In all, Guice went for 24 yards on the ground on seven carries and caught one pass that he took 45 yards for a touchdown. Now, with one game under his belt, expect him to get increased touches in Week 12.
• Redskins offense filled with youth -- The Redskins fielded a number of first- or second-year players at skill positions during last Sunday's loss to the Jets. That included Haskins, Guice and wideouts Terry McLaurin, Kelvin Harmon and Trey Quinn, who, despite being in just his second year, was one of the veterans in this group. After showing flashes in Week 11, highlighted by McLaurin's leaping catch late in the fourth quarter, this young core will look to find more consistency this weekend.
• Resurgence of Ryan Kerrigan -- After posting just two sacks through 10 games, outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan had his first multi-sack game of 2019, getting to Jets signal caller Sam Darnold in the backfield twice during the first quarter. Perhaps this will kickstart increased production for the four-time Pro-Bowler, who recorded 8.5 of his 13 sacks over the team's last eight games in 2018.

INTRIGUING MATCHUPS

• WR Terry McLaurin vs. CB Darius Slay -- Week after week, Terry McLaurin continues to impress with his route running and great hands. He'll get another challenge Sunday, facing off against the Lions' speedy cornerback Darius Slay, who ran a 4.36 40-yard dash at the 2013 NFL Combine.
• WR Kenny Golladay vs. CB Quinton Dunbar -- On the other side of the ball, there should be another exciting matchup on the perimeter between Golladay and Dunbar. Entering Sunday, the 6-4 Golladay leads Detroit in receiving yards (731) and is tied for second on the team in receptions (39). Dunbar, meanwhile, has cemented himself as a solid defensive back in his fifth season with the Redskins, earning Pro Football Focus' highest cornerback grade at the midseason point of the 2019 campaign.
• QB Jeff Driskel vs. Redskins' defensive front seven -- Having been thrown into a starting role after not playing a snap for all of 2019, Driskel has performed nicely in the two starts, accumulating 478 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Still, given his relative inexperience, the Redskins front seven will have a chance to disrupt the signal caller, especially if they can apply some early pressure.
• Lions' edge rushers vs. Redskins' offensive tackles -- In taking six sacks against the Jets, Dwayne Haskins often struggled to get into a rhythm. The Lions will hope to create a similar result Sunday with a talented tandem of edge rushers in Trey Flowers and Devon Kennard (10 combined sacks). Outside tackles Morgan Moses and Donald Penn, along with the rest of the line, need to play sound football so that Haskins has enough time to find his receivers on a consistent basis.
