The Redskins have placed wide receiver Mike Furrey on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced on Saturday.
Furrey suffered a concussion early in Redskins training camp.
He was held out of practice the rest of camp and did not play in the Redskins' first preseason game.
Furrey, 6-0 and 195 pounds, was competing for a roster spot at wide receiver with the Redskins. He has also played defensive back in his 7-year NFL career.
Furrey has posted 221 catches for 2,298 yards and seven touchdowns in his NFL career.
He turned in his best season in 2006 with the Detroit Lions. That year, he grabbed 98 passes for 1,086 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs.
