Redskins Re-Sign LB Nate Orchard

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have re-signed linebacker Nate Orchard. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Orchard, (6-3, 251), a five-year NFL veteran, entered the league after being selected in the second round (51st overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He spent three seasons with the Browns from 2015-17, before stints with both Buffalo and Kansas City in 2018. He was signed by the Redskins prior to Week 13 of last season.

For his career, Orchard has appeared in 43 regular season games with 13 starts. He has totaled 83 tackles (51 solo). In addition, he has 6.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, six passes defensed and one interception.

Orchard appeared in each of the five remaining games for Washington following his signing. He tallied a career-high 14 total tackles (eight solo), a sack, a pass defensed and a fumble recovery. He also added a blocked punt.

Orchard played collegiately at Utah and appeared in 24 games over two seasons. In 2014, he was a recipient of the Ted Hendricks Award, given to college football's top defensive end.

Orchard, 27, attended Highland H.S. in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born January 5, 1993.
