The Redskins have re-signed offensive lineman Will Montgomery, the team announced on Saturday.
Montgomery entered the offseason as a restricted free agent. He was tendered a contract by the Redskins at a seventh-round level.
Montgomery, 27, is a 4-year veteran who has experience playing both guard and center.
Standing at 6-3 and 312 pounds, his versatility proved valuable last season after the Redskins' offensive line struggled with injuries.
He played in all 16 games, with three starts at right guard.
Montgomery originally joined the Redskins on Dec. 9, 2008. He also has had stints with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.
He originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (234th overall) of the Panthers in 2006.
A native of Clifton, Va., Montgomery prepped at Centreville (Va.) High School where he was coached by Don Warren, the long-time Redskins tight end and current Redskins pro scout.
