The Redskins have re-signed tight end/H-back Brian Kozlowski, the team announced on Sunday. Kozlowski, an 11-year veteran, was at Redskins Park to sign his contract and reported for the start of training camp shortly thereafter.
Kozlowski played in 11 games for the Redskins last season, with one start, and caught three passes for 29 yards in limited action. The 6-3, 250-pound Kozlowski also has experience playing special teams.
The 6-3, 250-pounder will join a tight ends/H-back group that could use some veteran experience. The unit includes second-year H-back Chris Cooley and fourth-year tight end Robert Royal, as well as newcomers Billy Baber and rookies Manuel White, Jr. and William Palmer.
Kozlowski joined the Redskins from Atlanta, where he played for the Falcons--and Redskins' tight ends coach Rennie Simmons--from 1997-2003. He began his NFL career with the New York Giants in 1993.
In his career, Kozlowski has posted 81 catches for 946 yards and eight touchdowns.
Kozlowski joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Giants in 1993. He started 43 consecutive games during his collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, finishing his senior season with 43 catches for 526 yards and a touchdown.
