The Redskins announced Aug. 28 that they have released 12 players to reach the 75-player roster limit. The NFL deadline for reaching the limit was Tuesday, August 29 at 4 PM.
The Redskins now carry a total of 76 players on their roster, with an exemption for linebacker Philippe Gardent, who will spend the season on the team's practice squad as part of the NFL's International Development Practice Squad Program.
The 12 players released was as follows:
