The Redskins have released running backs Marcus Mason and Anthony Alridge and punter Glenn Pakulak, the team announced on Tuesday.
The releases were part of a flurry of roster moves by the Redskins. The team signed offensive tackle Levi Jones and running back Quinton Ganther and re-signed defensive end Renaldo Wynn.
Mason, a Potomac, Md., native, played in three games this season with the Redskins, registering six carries for 19 yards.
Mason became a local favorite for his play in preseason the last three years. He led the Redskins in preseason rushing yards in 2007 and 2008.
Alridge, who signed with the Redskins on Sept. 22, did not see any action on game days. He was active for one game and inactive for three others.
Alridge flashed lightning-fast speed but struggled with turnovers in practice and in preseason games.
Pakulak served as the Redskins' punter the last two weeks with Hunter Smith sidelined with a groin injury. Pakulak had 13 punts for a 38.3-yard average.
