Linebacker Matt Sinclair is no longer in the Redskins' plans.
The team released Sinclair on Tuesday.
Sinclair played two years with the Redskins, but he spent last season on injured reserve after he suffered a back injury.
Sinclair originally joined the Redskins' practice squad in September 2007.
He was promoted to the roster late in the season and played in four regular season games. He posted three special teams tackles.
Sinclair's departure leaves the Redskins with just five linebackers on the roster.
