After going into halftime down 20-14, the Redskins stormed back int the second half and picked up a 26-20 victory to extend the team's record to 5-3-1 on the season.

Fourth Quarter: Redskins 26, Vikings 20After Minnesota started the fourth quarter with a one-yard gain on a 2nd-and-1 play, the Redskins held firm, holding the Vikings to just three more plays before bring out the punt return unit.

Jamison Crowder fair caught a 41-yard punt at the eight-yard line.

The Redskins would quickly get out of the shadow of their own end zone, though, as Robert Kelley would pick up 21 yards on first down before Kirk Cousins hit Pierre Garçon and Jamison Crowder for receptions.

Washington, however, had to once again bring out Dustin Hopkins after a stalled drive, as the kicker nailed a 50-yard field goal to give the Redskins the lead once again.

The special teams then continued to get the upper hand, as they held explosive returner Cordarrelle Patterson to a return that would get to just the 12-yard line.

Just as it looked like Minnesota would get deep into Washington territory, Preston Smith logged his first career interception, tipping a Sam Bradford pass into the air and then grabbing it with one-hand. He returned the pick 22 yards to Minnesota's 42-yard line.

Washington would start the next drive with a five-yard run by Robert Kelley before Crowder gained a first down for the Redskins.

The Redskins would then go back to the air to Pierre Garçon for another first down.

But, for the fourth time in the half the Redskins would have to rely on Dustin Hopkins for a field goal try, which he would boot through the uprights to extend Washington's lead to six.

Minnesota would move the ball down the field, but Washington's defense stood tall on a critical fourth down play and the Redskins preserve their fifth victory of the season.

Third Quarter: Redskins 20, Vikings 20After the Redskins were set back by a false start penalty, Jordan Reed got the Redskins moving in the right direction with a 16-yard gain on 1st-and-15. The Redskins would once again moved the chains through the air, as Pierre Garçon picked up 14 two plays later.

Kirk Cousins would go back to Garçon for another first down reception, this time a 13-yard gain.

After Washington got into the red zone on a completion to Jamison Crowder, Dustin Hopkins trotted out for his first field goal attempt of the afternoon, one which he would make to cut the deficit to three.

Washington's defense started the second half just like they did in the first half, forcing a three-and-out. Minnesota tried to bait the Redskins into jumping offsides on 4th-and-1, but were called for delay of game.

Crowder would get the Redskins to their own 32-yard line after a five-yard punt return.

Kelley would once again pick up a big run on first down, picking up 14 yards before having his number called once more for a five-yard gain.

Eventually working the ball deep into Minnesota territory, Maurice Harris once again had a big third down catch, picking up 15 yards on 3rd-and-8.

The Redskins would yet again have to settle for a field goal attempt, though, as Hopkins aced his 37-yard attempt to knot the game at 20. 

Second Quarter: Redskins 14, Vikings 20It didn't take long for the Redskins to extend their lead, as Kirk Cousins completed an eight-yard pass to Maurice Harris on 3rd-and-6 (the first play of the quarter) before dropping back to loft a pass up to Vernon Davis for a 38-yard touchdown.

Dustin Hopkins nailed his extra point try to make it 14-0.

Minnesota would start their next drive from their own 23-yard line and was able to piece together a few solid plays, but Washington held strong even after the Vikings got a new set of downs on a third-down penalty call.

During the defense's appearance on the field, both Preston Smith and Ryan Kerrigan recorded tackles for loss in both the run and pass game.

The offense would get the ball back at their own 21-yard line but tallied a rare three-and-out (coming into the game only nine percent of the Redskins' drives last just three plays) after Cousins couldn't complete any of his three pass attempts.

Minnesota would take advantage, getting on the board off the back of an eight-play, 67-yard drive in which Matt Asiata punched it in for a one-yard score on third down.

On the drive, Maryland native Stefon Diggs hauled in a 36-yard reception to get the Vikings into Redskins territory.

Washington got back to work from their own 22-yard line, and on the first play of the drive Robert Kelley picked up 12 yards. But that'd be the most productive play of a drive that last just four plays.

Minnesota would take the ball 75 yards in seven plays to tie the score at 14 after Kyle Rudolph caught a 20-yard pass for a touchdown. 

The Vikings would quickly get the ball back, as Chris Thompson fumbled the ball on the Redskins' next posession. With 50 second left in the quarter, Minnesota was able to get into the driver's seat with a touchdown on the final play of the half.

First Quarter: Redskins 7, Vikings 0After deferring to second half following a winning opening coin toss, the Redskins defense was first to appear on the field for Washington on Sunday.

The unit's appearance was short lived, though, as they allowed just four yards on three plays to force a three-and-out.

After Jamison Crowder returned a punt to Washington's own 32-yard line, the offense went to work looking to jump out to an early lead.

Kirk Cousins would complete a pass to Pierre Garçon for a 12-yard gain on the first and then go back to the air to Jordan Reed, as the tight end would pick up 25 yards,

Washington continued their march well into Minnesota's territory off the run game before Cousins completed a four-yard pass to Jamison Crowder on 3rd-and-goal for an early score.

Dustin Hopkins converted the extra point attempt to make it 7-0.

The Washington defense returned to the field zoned in, as both Anthony Lanier and Duke Ihenacho laid some big hits while Preston Smith officially ended the drive with a sack on 3rd-and-15. 

Starting their next drive from their own nine-yard line, the offense slowly worked the ball down the field prior to the end of the quarter. Cousins completed a pair of passes to Vernon Davis while Robert Kelley continued his solid running with a first down run.
