The Redskins travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Nov. 27 at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff is 4:05 p.m. ET.

CenturyLink Field (formerly Qwest Field) uses an artificial surface called FieldTurf. The stadium seats 67,000.

The Redskins are 1-4 in road games this season. Their only road victory was in Week 4 at St. Louis, a 17-10 win. They have lost at Dallas, at Carolina, at Buffalo in Toronto and at Miami.

Seattle is 2-2 at CenturyLink Field this season. Sunday's game is the first of three consecutive home games for the Seahawks.at F

The Redskins are 2-1 against the NFC West this season. They defeated the Arizona Cardinals at FedExField in Week 1 and the Rams in Week 4. They lost to the San Francisco 49ers at FedExField in Week 9.

The Seahawks are 1-1 against the NFC East, having beaten the New York Giants in Week 5 and lost to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9

The Redskins-Seahawks game will be televised locally on FOX. Ron Pitts calls the play by play with Jim Mora providing color commentary. Drea Avent reports from the sidelines.

SERIES HISTORY

The Redskins and Seattle Seahawks have played 16 times, with the Redskins holding a 10-6 lead in the series.

In the regular season, the two teams have played 14 times, with the Redskins leading 10-4.

The last regular season matchup was on Nov. 23, 2008 in Seattle. The Redskins won 20-17 at Qwest Field, with Clinton Portis rushing for 143 yards on 29 carries.

Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 20-of-33 passes for 206 yards. LaRon Landry and Shawn Springs recorded interceptions to help preserve the win.

The Redskins and Seahawks have met twice in the postseason, with the Seahawks winning both times.

On Jan. 5, 2008, the Seahawks defeated the Redskins 35-14 at Qwest Field in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Antwaan Randle El and Santana Moss scored a pair of touchdowns early in the fourth quarter to give the Redskins a 14-13 lead, but the Seahawks ralled with 22 unanswered point to win the game.

Todd Collins was 29-of-50 for 266 yards and two touchdowns, but he threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

In the 2005 NFC Divisional Playoffs, on Jan. 14, 2008, the Seahawks prevailed 20-10 at Qwest Field, moving on to the NFC Championship game and ultimately Super Bowl XL.

The Seahawks took the lead late in the second quarter when quarterback Matt Hasselbeck tossed a 29-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Darrell Jackson. Then, early in the third quarter, Hasselbeck scored on a 6-yard touchdown run.

Mark Brunell threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Santana Moss to make the score 17-10 early in the fourth quarter, but the Redskins could get no closer. Brunell finished with 22-of-37 pass completions for 242 yards and one touchdown.

Running backs coach Sherman Smith was offensive coordinator for the Redskins from 2008-09.

Defensive end Chris Clemons played for the Redskins from 2003-05.

-- How the Redskins' 53-Man Roster Was Built

The Redskins have 20 players on the roster that the team drafted, including each of the first-round draft picks (Ryan Kerrigan, Trent Williams and Brian Orakpo) of the last three years.

Washington has used free agency to acquire 23 players, including Mike Sellers in 2004, London Fletcher in 2007, DeAngelo Hall in 2008, Rex Grossman in 2010 and Barry Cofield and Stephen Bowen in 2011.

Four Redskins players were acquired as undrafted rookie free agents. This group includes cornerback Byron Westbrook, wide receiver Brandon Banks, tight end Logan Paulsen and offensive tackle Willie Smith

The team has acquired six players via trade: Santana Moss (Jets) in 2005, John Beck (Ravens), Jammal Brown (Saints) and Adam Carriker (Rams) in 2010 and Jabar Gaffney (Broncos) and Tim Hightower (Cardinals) in 2011.

-- Redskins' Strength of Schedule

The Redskins have the NFL's 29th toughest schedule in 2011, according to the NFL. (Or, in other words, the Redskins have the NFL's fourth easiest schedule.)

The Redskins' opponents for the 2011 season produced a 121-135 record last year, a .473 winning percentage.

Only the Arizona Cardinals (.441), Baltimore Ravens (.457) and San Francisco 49ers (.465) have easier schedules than the Redskins.

The Redskins play six games against teams who finished .500 or better in 2010. They play five games against 2010 playoff opponents.

In the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys have the 15th toughest schedule (.504), the Philadelphia Eagles have the 17th toughest schedule (.504) and the New York Giants have the 23rd toughest schedule.

-- Redskins Sack-masters

The Redskins enter Week 12 ranked tied for third in the NFL with 27 sacks.

Rookie linebacker Ryan Kerrigan leads the defense with six sacks, including three in the last two games. Kerrigan is targeting fellow linebacker Brian Orakpo's rookie record of 11 sacks in 2009. He also has four forced fumbles on the season, tied for first in the NFL.

Orakpo has 5.5 sacks so far this season. He had 2.5 sacks in the Redskins' Week 4 win over St. Louis.

The Redskins are on pace for 49 sacks in the regular season, which would be the seventh-highest single-season total in franchise history.

The Redskins lead the NFL in sacks per passing attempt, at 9.9 percent.

-- London Calling

London Fletcher has been one of the NFL's most consistent and productive defensive players throughout his 14-year career.

That continues this season, his fifth in the nation's capital. The 5-foot-10, 245-pound Fletcher has earned Pro Bowl berths each of the last two years.

Fletcher enters this Sunday's game with a streak of 173 consecutive starts, second-best among active players behind Tampa Bay cornerback Ronde Barber (193).

Fletcher has played in 218 consecutive games, which is tied with Barber for most in the league.

Last year also marked the 13th straight in which Fletcher recorded at least 100 tackles, dating back to 1999 when he was in his second season with the St. Louis Rams.

-- 'Rocc'-Star

Sav Rocca, the Redskins' 37-year-old Australian punter, is off to a strong start in his first year in Washington. Overall, he is averaging 45.5 yards per punt.

He is second in the NFL with 20 punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line.

Rocca enters Week 11 with a 41.3-yard net punting average, which if maintained would be the highest average in Redskins franchise history. Matt Turk currently hold the single-season record for net punting, having averaged 39.2 net yards in both 1996 and 1997.

"Net is really the team stat that we look at after my punt," Rocca explained. "If I give it as much hang time as possible for these guys to get down there, then they're not going to have any return yards."

Rocca is also one of two punters in the NFL to have zero touchbacks (in a minimum of 30 punts).

-- On the Road Again

The Redskins will travel 12,342 miles during the 2011 regular season, which is the 22nd most in the NFL. The team's longest road trip of the year is to Seattle on Nov. 27.

The San Francisco 49ers travel the most miles of all NFL teams, at 29,196. Seattle is second at 26,918 and San Diego is third with 26,740. (A trip around the globe is approximately 25,000 miles.)

Among divisions, NFC East teams travel the third-most miles at 61,278, trailing the NFC West (95,346) and AFC West (82,826). Dallas travels the most miles in the NFC East at 20,232.

-- Shanahan File

With the Redskins' Week 4 win over the St. Louis Rams, Mike Shanahan recorded his 163rd career win (regular season and postseason) as a head coach.

Shanahan's career record is 163-120, a .576 winning percentage. That win total is 15th best among all-time NFL head coaches. He surpassed Bill Cowher with the Redskins' Week 2 win over Arizona.

Among active head coaches, Shanahan's record is second only to New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who has a 184-103 record.

Shanahan has won games against every NFL opponent. He is 11-8 all-time against the Seahawks.

-- Grossman And 300

Rex Grossman's 305-yard passing performance in the Redskins' season-opening win over the New York Giants on Sept. 11 was his fourth career 300-yard passing game.

Three of his four 300-yard games have come in his nine starts with the Redskins.

Grossman passed for 322 yards on Dec. 19, 2010 against the Dallas Cowboys and 336 yards on Jan. 2 against the Giants to go along with his performance on Sept. 11.

-- What's Next?

The Redskins will face the New York Jets on Dec. 4 at FedExField. Kickoff is 1 p.m. ET.

Washington is 8-1 all-time in the regular season against the Jets. The Redskins won the most recent meeting in 2007 by a 23-20 score, courtesy of an overtime field goal by Shaun Suisham.

The last time the Jets played the Redskins at FedExField was the NFL's 2003 Thursday night season opener. The Redskins won that contest 16-13 on a last-second field goal by kicker John Hall.
