The Redskins have added a third defensive player in the 2018 NFL Draft with the addition of linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton in the sixth round.

For the second draft in a row, the Washington Redskins have selected two players from the University of Alabama.

After picking defensive lineman Da'Ron Payne in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Redskins on Saturday traded up to pick linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton at pick No. 197.

In four seasons with Alabama, Hamilton appeared in 33 career games, recording 134 total tackles (65 solo) along with 4.5 sacks, two interceptions and two fumbles forced.

During his senior season, Hamilton was voted a permanent captain, as the six-foot, 228 pounder finished tied for second in total tackles (40) while raking third on the team in tackles for loss (5.5).

As a junior in 2016, Hamilton finished the year with 64 tackles, nine for loss.

In his first two seasons for the Crimson Tide, Hamilton appeared in a combined 12 games, tallying 30 tackles.

With his addition to the roster, the Redskins now have five former Alabama players, as Hamilton joins Payne along with Ryan Anderson, Jonathan Allen and Arie Kouandjio.
