The Washington Redskins announced April 27 that they have selected safety Chris Horton in the seventh-round (249th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft.
This selection represents the Redskins 10th pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, and their third compensatory selection.
Horton (6-1, 216 pounds) started every game for the past two seasons at UCLA and finished his career with 238 tackles (160 solo) and 13 sacks.
In 2007, Horton finished second on the team in tackles with 90 (64 solo), after coming off another strong performance his junior year in 2006 where he led the team with 95 tackles (64 solo).
Horton suffered a wrist injury in 2005 and missed the first six games of the season. As a reserve in 2004, Horton finished the season with 27 tackles (16 solo).
Horton graduated from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, where he was a three-time varsity letterman. He totaled 117 tackles (86 solo) and four sacks as a senior.
