With today's game against the New York Giants officially a thing of the past, the Washington Redskins set their focus on their rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.*

With today's matchup against the New York Giants in the rear-view mirror, the Washington Redskins turn their focus to another divisional rival, this time on the national stage.

The NFC East-leading Redskins on Dec. 7 play host to the Dallas Cowboys for a Monday Night Football matchup at FedExField. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys will come to FedExField with a 3-8 record and off the heels of a 33-14 Thanksgiving loss to the Carolina Panthers at AT&T Stadium.

Dallas has been hit hard by the injury bug to this point of the season, particularly on offense, where Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo has missed the majority of the season with a clavicle injury, while All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant missed five games after breaking a bone in his right foot against the New York Giants in their season opener.

Against the Panthers, Romo was knocked out of the game once again with a hairline fracture to his left clavicle, and the team announced on Friday that the veteran quarterback will not return for the remainder of the 2015 season.

The Cowboys simply haven't been the same team without Romo in the lineup. They won their season opener over the Giants, 27-26, and their Week 2 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-10, but saw Romo suffer his first clavicle injury in that game.

They lost their next seven games as Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel split duties at the quarterback position, but defeated the Miami Dolphins, 24-14, Nov. 22 in Romo's return.

The Cowboys entered today's Week 12 action ranked 28th in the league in total offense with 331.4 total yards per game. Their 18.5 points scored per game ranks 29th in the NFL.

The Dallas defense, meanwhile, has certainly been a source of pride, as their 332 yards allowed per game ranks eighth in the league. Their 23.7 points allowed per game average ranks 17th.

Cassel, who is expected to be the starter against the Redskins, has completed 87-of-138 of his passes (63 percent) for 902 yards and five touchdowns to five interceptions. Leading the running game for the Cowboys is Darren McFadden, who has 169 rushes for 634 yards (3.8 yards per carry) with two touchdowns.

Veteran right end Jason Witten is leading the Cowboys with 55 receptions for 508 yards with two touchdowns. Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley each have three touchdown receptions, while Bryant has added two of his own.

Linebacker Sean Lee and safety Barry Church once again lead the Dallas defense in 2015, each of whom have a team-best 81 tackles. Lee has added a sack, four passes defensed and an interception. Defensive end Greg Hardy has posted 4.5 sacks in just seven games so far in 2015.

The Cowboys are led once again led by head coach Jason Garrett, who is in his fifth full season at the helm of the franchise. Garrett, 49, owns a 44-39 (.530) overall record in Dallas, including one playoff appearance (1-1) last season. Garrett, a former NFL quarterback, began his coaching career as quarterbacks coach with the Miami Dolphins from 2005-06 before joining the Cowboys as offensive coordinator in 2007. He was named interim head coach during Week 10 of the 2010 season, and retained the job full-time the following season.

• The Redskins and Cowboys have previously faced each other 16 times on Monday Night Football, with each team earning eight victories. The Redskins defeated the Cowboys, 20-17, in overtime in the teams' most recent meeting in Week 8 of the 2014 season.
• The Redskins are 4-4 all-time against the Cowboys in *Monday Night Football *home games.
• A win on *Monday Night Football *would give the Redskins wins in consecutive Monday night games for the first time since earning two Monday night victories during the 1991 season.
• The Redskins will attempt to even their all-time home record against the Cowboys at 29-29 including postseason play, dating back to the teams' first meeting at Griffith Stadium on Oct. 9, 1960.
