The Redskins have traded cornerback Justin Tryon to the Indianapolis Colts for an undisclosed draft pick, the team announced on Saturday.

Tryon was in his third season with the Redskins, but he slipped to last on the depth chart under the new coaching staff.

In preseason this year, he played in all four games and posted nine tackles and one interception.

In 2009, it appeared Tryon was making strides at the NFL level. He played in 15 games, with one start, and mostly served in nickel packages on defense.

He recorded 30 tackles, one sack, one interception and six passes defended last year. He also logged six special teams tackles.

Tryon was the club's fourth-round draft pick (124th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft.

With Tryon traded and Ramzee Robinson among the Saturday roster cuts, the Redskins go into the regular season with five cornerbacks on the roster: starters DeAngelo Hall and Carlos Rogers and backups Phillip Buchanon, Kevin Barnes and Byron Westbrook.
