With Sunday's game against the Ravens in the books, the Redskins now turn their focus onto the Eagles, the first of two matchups between the NFC East rivals this season.
After facing AFC North foes each of the last two weeks in the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, the Washington Redskins return to NFC East action next Sunday when they host the Philadelphia Eagles at FedExField.
The Redskins enter the game sporting a 3-2 record, while the Eagles are coming off a 24-23 loss to the Detroit Lions following a 3-0 start to their season.
Throughout the offseason, it appeared that veteran quarterback Sam Bradford would be the man leading Philadelphia's offense once again, but a trade on the day rosters needed to be trimmed to 53 players the Eagles traded the former No. 1-overall pick to the Minnesota Vikings.
That opened the door for Carson Wentz – a player originally thought to be inactive for his rookie season – to take over the offense.
So far this season, Wentz has proved his worth as the No. 2-overall pick, passing for seven touchdowns, but his first career interception sealed a Lions victory over the Eagles.
Behind Wentz at running back is the one-two punch of Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles.
Mathews struggled some to start the season, as it took him three games to get over 100 rushing yards, but the seven-year veteran out of Fresno State totaled three touchdowns during that span including two against the Chicago Bears.
Sproles, meanwhile, doesn't look like he's slowing down any in his 12th NFL season, as he already has a receiving touchdown on the season while provided the Eagles' offense a different look out of the backfield.
Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner have also made appearances at running back this season.
The team's receiving corps is still relatively unproven, headlined by Jordan Mathews and Nelson Agholor. Philadelphia also picked up second-year wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham during the offseason.
Through the first three games of the season, Philadelphia was led defensively by Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham, each of whom had three sacks.
Rodney McLeod, meanwhile, led the team in tackles (14) and interceptions (two).
This will mark the first time this year that the Redskins and Eagles have faced off. Washington has already played two division games to date, as they lost to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 before defeating the New York Giants the next week.
Sunday's game will mark the 162nd time the two teams have met dating back to the 1934 season.
The Redskins currently hold a three-game winning streak in the series, most recently defeating the Eagles 38-24 in Week 16 last year, a result that would secure an NFC East title for Washington.
